DRIVE IN THE RAIN is a horror-tinged, experiential road-movie adventure in which the story unfolds through your passengers' conversations as you drive a rain-lashed highway to your destination.

Players simply keep driving down a rainy highway at night, straight toward their destination.

The stage is a single ~100 km road, so you won't get lost. The drive to your destination may seem monotonous and dull, but you must constantly stay alert to everything around the vehicle: wet pavement, surrounding traffic, roadworks, and the hallucinations and crushing pressure brought on by supernatural phenomena...

Can you overcome the many obstacles and deliver your passengers to their destination?

Story

You (the player) found a high-paying job on a part-time job app. Though the job description was suspicious—"Support for modern paranormal resolution, driver wanted"—you were broke and drowning in debt, leaving you with no choice. The condition for applying was holding a driver's license capable of driving older vehicles without fully autonomous driving features. Fortunately, you qualify.

Appearing at the meetup spot was a beat-up sedan that looked like it was picked out of a scrapyard and a mysterious beauty. Looking closely, an exhausted young girl seems to be sitting in the back seat.

You take the key from the beauty and swap places to drive. The vehicle's mechanical condition seems better than its outward appearance suggests. As the car merges onto the highway, the falling rain gradually intensifies.

In the story, you drive while taking on the crowd's malice through an in-car livestream, in order to help a young girl suffering from such harm. As a result, when the player drives improperly, viewers turn their malice toward the player, who then faces interference such as hallucinations and crushing pressure caused by supernatural phenomena.

Examples of improper driving include speeding, changing lanes without turn signals, and continually lingering in the passing lane.
