Why Early Access?

“Being in Early Access gives us at Longdog Games the time to take player feedback on the core gameplay loop which will help set the foundation for a solid tournament mode.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our rough target is 3 to 6 months. If player feedback points us toward features that warrant more development — a fuller tournament mode, deeper customisation tools, anything else that emerges — we'd rather extend Early Access than push a half-finished update out the door.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan is to include support for custom tables, card backs and faces as well as the ability to drop in custom audio files. We'd also look to implement a tutorial covering the basics of Texas Hold'em for the more casual player we hope this game attracts.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core Texas Hold'em loop is in place: blinds, betting rounds, side pots, showdowns and chip awards all work (we think!). Multiplayer runs over Steam lobbies — host a game and invite friends through the Steam overlay, or paste a lobby ID to join. Solo Play against AI opponents is available with several bot personality styles. Customization is at an early stage: selectable card decks and back themes, plus configurable lobby options for starting chips, turn timer, max seats, and bot count. Some of the current sound effects are placeholders and will evolve as we develop the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Hold'em Fold'em may increase in price moderately after early access reflecting extra content and polish.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be monitoring and engaging on our social media channels as well as keeping an eye on the Steam forums for constructive feedback. We're very much open to feature requests, scope permitting of course!”

Hold'em Fold'em Poker is a relaxed, no-nonsense take on Texas Hold'em, built to be simple and easy to play — over an evening with friends, or solo with bots, with a smooth 80s lounge soundtrack taking you through to the river.

No pay-to-win. No mystery loot boxes. No energy timers. No premium currency. Just card cosmetics for your hand that don't affect gameplay in any way.

Hosting a game is quick and easy. Full Steam friends integration and utilising Steamworks for lobbies. Peer2Peer with lobby handover in case you lose connection whilst hosting your game.

The play area offers extensive customization if you so wish; card faces, card backs, decks, table felts, reaction themes, music playlists, mouse cursors.  Want to go further? Drop your own card art, table felts, or music into an easy to find content folder and the game picks them up automatically.
