About This Game

Skill-based combat

Combat rewards timing, creativity, and knowing your enemy. Dodge through attacks, read patterns, and chain abilities into devastating combos. The more forms you master, the more expressive your fighting style becomes.

Explore the world

Explore an open 2d world, visiting ruined cities and wild landscapes. Find your own path, as there are many ways to get to your destination. New monster forms will open new paths. Hidden treasures and buried secrets reward the curious.

Bond with the monsters

Meet unique monsters across the world. Form a bond with them and they will become part of you, allowing you to shapeshift into their form at will, using their abilities to fight, move, and interact with the world in ways your human body never could.


A story with stakes

A compelling story. Play a key role in a conflict between human progress, monster exploitation, and ecosystem stability.

Customize your build

Shapeshift between monsters for different playstyles. Customize each transformation by selecting your abilities and equipping items for passive bonuses.

Inspirations

Monshifter draws inspiration from its two genres:

  • Metroidvanias: Hollow Knight and Silksong, Blasphemous 1 and 2, Nine Sols, the Ori games, Tunic, ...

  • Monster tamers/creature collectors: Pokemon, Palworld, Monster Sanctuary, Cassette Beasts, ...

Additionally, we draw inspiration from our local Catalan landscapes and culture.
