[Patchnote] Northgard Major Update - Relics

Greetings Warchiefs!

We're glad to finally present you our new major update: Northgard Relics!

Relics is the biggest content update since the release of Northgard Ragnarok, and we truly hope you’ll enjoy what we’ve introduced!

The creation and usage of tools has been completely changed in this patch.

The Forge

The Forge has gained a lot of importance in Northgard. The building requires a Woodcutter’s Lodge to be created and costs 80 and 20 .
The building can be upgraded with 100 , 50 and 5 .

You can assign 2 smiths to a non-upgraded Forge and 3 to an upgraded Forge. Add Smiths to craft items quicker.
You can build more than one Forge, but you won’t be able to use both buildings to craft the same item.

The Tools

In the Forge, you now have the possibility of 3 different actions:
  • Upgrade civilian tools
  • Upgrade military tools
  • Forge a Relic

You can queue multiple items in the Forge. When the first item is finished, the Smiths will start forging the next one.

If there isn’t any adversity in the Forge’s tile, you can cancel the creation of an item, and you’ll be refunded its original cost.

You’ll have the possibility to improve the Smith’s tools, granting them a 15% increase in Forge speed!

The knowledge of building Relics has just been rediscovered. Every clan can choose between 5 common Relics and each clan has one specific relic. Each clan can only have one relic per game and can only use the relic it creates.

To build a Relic, go to the Relic tab in the Forge menu and select the type of relic you want to build. Once it’s built, it will appear in the list of available buildings. Forging a Relic costs 10 , 50 and 100 .

“If Odin played Early Access strategy games, I imagine he’d be pleased.”
PC Gamer

“It’s an impressively well-made thing, a finely-embroidered cloak of an RTS with all the elements sewn together in a pleasing and sensible way.”
Rock Paper Shotgun

“Northgard is already worthwhile, and it could easily become a must-play for strategy fans if Shiro Games continues to add to and improve the already solid foundation that they’ve laid so far.”

About This Game

  • After years of tireless explorations, brave Vikings have discovered a new land filled with mystery, danger and riches: Northgard.

  • The boldest Northmen have set sail to explore and conquer these new shores, bring fame to their Clan and write history through conquest, trading, or devotion to the Gods.

  • That is, if they can survive the dire Wolves and Undead Warriors roaming the land, befriend or defeat the giants, and survive the harshest winters ever witnessed in the North.

  • Build your settlement on the newly discovered continent of Northgard

  • Assign your vikings to various jobs (Farmer, Warrior, Sailor, Loremaster...)

  • Manage your resources carefully and survive harsh winters and vicious foes

  • Expand and discover new territory with unique strategic opportunities

  • Achieve different victory conditions (Conquest, Fame, Lore, Trading...)

  • Play against your friends or against an AI with different difficulty levels and personalities

  • Enjoy dedicated servers and grind the ranks to reach the final Norse God rank!

  • The Viking High King is murdered and his Regal Horn is stolen by a man named Hagen.

  • This event kickstarts a saga that will take Rig, his son and heir accompanied by his right-hand man Brand through the new continent of Northgard.

  • The continent where he will make new friends and foes and discover a much greater threat than Hagen, and the reasons behind his father’s assassination.

In order to complete the 11 campaign chapters, the player will have to master the specificities of the 6 first clans and tame the unforgiving wilderness of Northgard.

Since the beginning of Northgard's colonization, 3 new clans have joined the battle, introducing new ways of playing and battling.
