What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Releasing this game in early access will allow me to iteratively incorporate feedback from early players. As my first published game, I would benefit greatly from constructive criticism and ideas for additional in-game content (e.g. creatures to include, potential new systems).”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan for the Early Access phase of this game to last 3 - 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In its completed form, I plan for this game to include a richer variety of species, more unique encounterables, controller support, steam achievements, and a more fully fleshed-out system of submarine durability and vulnerability to the environment (e.g. rough weather and interactions with large sea creatures).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently includes a fully explorable world, ugpradable submarine components, a dozen or more fish, marine mammals and invertebrates to photograph, and low-fi music.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to charge 50% of the finished game's price during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Comments, reviews and criticisms are welcomed at this stage in development! Please send me an email with your comments at cpmadsenviking@gmail.com. I will do my best to integrate ideas shared by community members, if they are in keeping with the game's styles and my constraints as a novice, solo developer (e.g. I won't be able to add huge numbers of creatures to the game!).”

About This Game

Have you ever wanted to explore the depths of the ocean?

In this submarine simulator, realistic ocean floor bathymetry is home to a range of flora and fauna. Take photographs and sell them to upgrade your submarine - the more species in your photos, the more they are worth!

Observe and record different varieties of animals in your catalogue - an albino blue whale, a giant Japanese spidercrab, and many more...

PLEASE NOTE: I have not yet uploaded a version of TethyScope that works for older machines that do not support Vulkan (modern graphics API). I believe computers newer than 2013 should have support for Vulkan. If you purchase TethyScope and are unable to play it due to this issue, please contact me for a full refund.
