Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer working on a psychological horror game, community feedback is absolutely crucial. Horror is highly subjective, and balancing the pacing, tension, and difficulty is incredibly challenging to do in a vacuum. Early Access allows me to involve players directly in the development process. By listening to the community's experiences, I can refine the gameplay mechanics, adjust the scares, and fix unforeseen bugs across different PC configurations. My goal is to build Rotten Angel alongside the players to ensure the final 1.0 release delivers the most polished and terrifying experience possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I estimate the game will be in Early Access for roughly [8 to 12 months]. However, this timeline may adjust based on player feedback and the scope of refinements needed. As a solo developer, my primary focus is delivering a high-quality, polished horror experience rather than rushing to meet a strict deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full 1.0 version is planned to feature the complete narrative experience and all intended environments. While Early Access introduces the core survival mechanics, the first chapters, and the main entities, the final release will include all the concluding areas, all the endings, expanded lore, additional variations of encounters, and overall deeper polish based on the community's input.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“While the current Early Access build features the core gameplay loop: atmospheric exploration, stealth/survival mechanics, and the first major sections of the trap.
It is not yet ready to be sold.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price will remain exactly the same during and after Early Access. I want to ensure that everyone pays the same fair price for the experience, whether they choose to support the game early on to help shape its development, or wait for the full 1.0 release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be actively engaging with players through the Steam Discussion boards and the game's official Discord server. I plan to read player feedback, watch playthroughs to understand how people react to the horror elements, and post regular development updates. Community input will directly influence bug fixes, difficulty balancing, and the refinement of the game's atmosphere.”
