Live aboard your own narrowboat and bring a forgotten canal back to life. Clear the islands, craft what the wildlife needs, fish, forage and make the boat your home, inside and out. One very needy cat included.

Five years ago the brickworks shut, the lock keeper closed every gate, and the boats stopped coming up the cut. The islands went quiet. Yours is the only boat still moving.

Moorhaven: Cozy Canal Life is a slow, gentle life sim about living aboard a narrowboat and putting a forgotten waterway to rights, one mooring at a time. Carry the post, clear the banks, and slow right down.

Step ashore and clear the junk by hand. Keep what's useful, then build what the wildlife needs at your craft bench. Every trough, coop and flower tub you set down helps an island recover. First the hens turn up. Then the deer.

Any shape you like

Long or short, a square cabin or a barrel roof, a raked front or a curved one. The boatwright will refit her section by section, it's entirely up to you.

A home that floats

Furnish the cabin your way: a stove, armchairs, lamps, pictures, wallpaper and floors. Redecorate whenever you're aboard.

One very needy cat

Pick a kitten from the litter and give it a name. It will nap on your chairs, sit on your roof and ask for chin scratches at the worst possible moment. Ignore it for too long and something is getting knocked over.

Meet the neighbours

A toolmaker, a boatwright, a shopkeeper and a few others never left. They keep their own hours, open up by day and head home at night, and they have waited five years for news of each other. You carry it.

Fish, forage and photograph

Cast a line from the bank, pick what's in season, and photograph every animal that comes back for your journal. Sell what you don't need at the island shops.
