About This Game

Beat Boxy is an increasingly tough, rhythm-based 3D auto-runner featuring low-poly graphics and a catchy soundtrack. You play as Boxy; a shipping crate rocking a hat, glasses, gloves, and boots of your choosing. Boxy is continuously straight, desperate to reach his delivery destination. It’s simple enough to play with just two inputs (jump & slide), but challenging enough to test your reflexes, your patience, and your sanity.

Game Features Include: In-Game Level Editor, Cloud/Device Saving, Global Leaderboards, Daily Challenges, Challenge Other Players, 140+ Achievements, 110+ Unlockable Gear & Outfits, 3 Difficulties (Easy, Hard, Insane), Practice Mode with Checkpoints, Skippable Levels (After 100 Tries), 12 Ranks, 4 Modes of Transport (Walking, Running, Skateboarding, Rollerblading), Ghost Player (Fastest Time), Watch Replay (Last/Fastest Time) & 10 Weather Type.

Simple to Learn, Tough to Master

Boxy moves at a constant speed, and your survival depends entirely on two actions: Jump and Slide.

  • Two-Input Mastery: Jump over obstacles, or chain jumps together for seamless landings. Slide to avoid overhead obstacles.

  • Dynamic Audio Rhythm: Sliding isn't just a physical maneuver. It slows Boxy down by 10% and dynamically slows the music's tempo right along with him, affecting your final completion time!

  • One-Hit Permadeath: Boxy doesn’t have a health bar. If you clip a traffic cone, run face first into a dumpster, or slam your head into something from below, Boxy explodes into a bunch of wood planks. The upbeat music instantly dies like a record scratch, and it’s an instant restart.

  • Slow Zones & Speed Boosts: Need a breather? Certain areas feature "Slow Zones" (bushes & puddles) that drop Boxy's speed and the music's tempo by exactly 50%. It gives you a moment to process the chaos, but hitting them will ruin your chances at a top-tier clear time. There are also "Speed Boosts" that you can collect that increase your travelling speed by 50% for a short period of time.

4 Speeds of Stress

Boxy's speed stays consistent within each level, but depending on the stage, you'll be tackling obstacles using three distinct modes of transportation; each one faster than the last:

Running - Speed 1 (Base Speed)

Skateboarding - Speed 2 (25% Faster)

Rollerblading - Speed 3 (50% Faster)

Walking - Speed 0 (Up to 50% Slower than Running) is also available strictly for Fan-Made Levels.

Risk, Reward, and Ranks

  • Gem Economy: Scattered throughout the treacherous levels are Gems used to unlock fresh new outfits in the shop. But if Boxy dies before the finish line, every Gem you collected spills out. You only bank what you survive with!

  • Brutal Ranking System: At the end of each level, you are awarded a rank based on your clear time; from Flawless and Prodigy, all the way down to Garbage and Literal Feces.

  • The Ultimate Shame: If a level is truly breaking your spirit, you can choose to skip it after 100 failed attempts. The catch? You are permanently branded with the Literal Feces rank for that stage until you're able to beat it.

The Gems

So what do you think.. Can you Beat Boxy?
