What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a solo indie developer, I want to involve the community in shaping the final experience. The core game is complete and fully playable from start to finish, but Early Access allows me to gather player feedback, refine gameplay balance, add requested features, and ensure the game meets player expectations before the full V1.0 release.

Early Access supporters will help guide development priorities—whether that's additional anomaly types, difficulty modes, quality-of-life improvements, or expanded story content. This collaborative approach ensures the final product is the best it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 4-6 months.

The game will launch in Early Access as V0.1 with the complete core experience (31 anomalies, full story, 2-3 hour campaign). Updates will roll out regularly:

- V0.2 (Month 1): Audio improvements, menu polish
- V0.3 (Month 2): Steam Achievements
- V0.4 (Month 3): Additional anomalies and difficulty modes
- V0.5-0.9 (Months 4-5): Community-requested features, polish
- V1.0 (Month 6): Full release with all content

This timeline may adjust based on community feedback and development pace, but the goal is a polished V1.0 release by late 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version (V0.1) is a complete, fully playable game with:
- 31 unique anomalies across 35 levels
- Complete story from beginning to end
- Professional voice acting
- All core mechanics implemented

Current Plan For Full Version (V1.0) is to add:
- Steam Achievements (15-20 unlockables)
- Additional subtle anomalies based on player feedback (10-15 new)
- Difficulty modes (Easy/Normal/Hard)
- Enhanced audio systems (adjustable sliders, ambient layers)
- Quality-of-life improvements (fullscreen toggle, additional graphics options)
- Performance optimizations
- Community-requested features
- Potential bonus content (alternate endings, challenge modes)

The core experience will remain the same—Early Access players are getting the full game. Updates will enhance and expand, not complete it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is feature-complete and fully playable from start to finish.

COMPLETE FEATURES:
- 31 unique anomalies across 35 progressively challenging levels
- Full narrative arc exploring the fate of the previous inspector
- 4 distinct environment types (Lobby, Office, Corridor, Basement)
- 3 major showpiece events (dramatic story moments)
- Professional AI-generated voice acting for all characters
- Ending cutscene with credits and post-credits scene
- Deck-based progression system (no repeated anomalies in single playthrough)
- Smooth level transitions and polished UI
- 2-3 hours of tense gameplay

KNOWN LIMITATIONS:
- Some graphics settings (fullscreen toggle) not yet functional
- Audio sliders present but refinement ongoing
- Steam Achievements not yet implemented
- Minor performance optimizations still in progress

PERFORMANCE:
- 30+ FPS on minimum spec systems
- 60+ FPS on recommended spec systems
- Tested on range of hardware configurations

This is NOT a rough alpha or proof-of-concept—it's a complete horror game ready to be experienced, with updates planned to enhance and expand the foundation.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Early Access supporters will get the game at a discounted price.

Early Access buyers are supporting development and providing valuable feedback—this lower price is a thank you for that support. Once the game reaches V1.0 with all planned features (achievements, additional content, polish), the price will increase to reflect the expanded experience.

Early Access players will receive all future updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly shape development priorities. Here's how:

FEEDBACK CHANNELS:
- Steam Community Hub - Primary discussion forum
- Review analysis - Monitoring what players love/dislike
- Bug report system - Tracking and fixing issues quickly
- Steam discussions - Direct dialogue with players

FEEDBACK IMPLEMENTATION:
- Regular update posts (bi-weekly) on development progress
- Community polls on feature priorities (what to add next?)
- Public roadmap showing planned updates
- Patch notes detailing community-requested changes
- Direct responses to common suggestions

SPECIFIC EXAMPLES:
- If players request more subtle anomalies → V0.4 will add them
- If difficulty feels unbalanced → Difficulty modes in V0.4
- If players want specific QoL features → Prioritized in updates
- If performance issues on certain hardware → Optimization patches

TRANSPARENCY:
- Clear communication about what's feasible vs. not
- Honest timelines for updates
- Acknowledgment when suggestions can't be implemented and why

As a solo developer, I'm building this game FOR players. Your feedback doesn't just matter—it drives development decisions. Early Access is a partnership, not a one-way transaction.”

About This Game

You are an Anomaly Inspector working the night shift.

Your job is simple: walk through each area, inspect for irregularities, and report your findings. CLEAR means everything is normal. ANOMALY means something has changed.

But as the night progresses, the changes become more unsettling.

THE JOB

Objects appear where they shouldn't be. Rooms feel subtly wrong. Sounds echo from empty hallways. The phone rings with impossible messages.

Every decision matters. Report false anomalies and Management questions you. Miss real anomalies and something worse takes notice.

THE PREVIOUS INSPECTOR

Robert Mitchell never clocked out from his final shift. His fate is documented in notes throughout the facility. As you progress, his story becomes yours.

Management insists everything is routine. The facility disagrees.

FEATURES

  • 31 Unique Anomalies - Each designed to unsettle and challenge perception

  • 35 Progressive Levels - Tension escalates throughout the night

  • Story-Driven Horror - Uncover the truth through environmental storytelling

  • Showpiece Events - Memorable sequences beyond simple detection

  • Professional Voice Acting - ElevenLabs AI brings characters to life

  • Atmospheric Environments - Built in Unreal Engine

  • 2-3 Hour Experience - Focused horror, no padding

  • Multiple Outcomes - Your vigilance determines your fate

MATURE CONTENT

Psychological horror with implied violence, disturbing themes, and mild jump scares. Not recommended for players sensitive to these elements.

AI TRANSPARENCY

Voice acting uses ElevenLabs AI for professional performances on an indie budget. All voices created specifically for this game under proper licensing.

FROM THE DEVELOPER

The Anomaly Inspector is my first commercial game, developed solo as a love letter to atmospheric horror that trusts player intelligence.

Thank you for supporting indie horror.

- Argaze

Can you complete your shift? Or will you become part of the facility's dark history?
