What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to produce loads more content, including new items, skills, monsters, and events. Through feedback from active players we can make The City of Endless the best game it can be. This means focusing on what's working, creating more content and cultivating a community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning to release within the next six months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have planned a lot more weapons, items, skills and gear, creating deeply synergistic board combinations that are balanced and most of all fun. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core game loop is complete and we're focused on polishing to a standard we're happy with. There are over 70 items, skills, monsters, and events in the Early Access version already giving players tens of thousands of possible board combinations.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to ever charge for DLC or new content in The City of Endless. We plan to release consistent content updates for free. We are offering Early Access at a discount for now to reward early adopters.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to get the community involved as much as possible to help shape the meta. You can give feedback in the game directly or via our Discord.”

About This Game

The City of Endless is a roguelike auto battler with asynchronous multiplayer. What was once a utopia an age ago now stretches on forever thanks to magic gone awry. Explore the sprawling rail network in your home: your Rig. Scavenge, barter, and arm yourself as you push into the infinite sprawl. Its inhabitants are dangerous. The other survivors are worse.

  • Ride the Rails: Each run you must choose your Rig's direction carefully, piece together perks and resources, and try to keep your life on the rails. The deeper you go the better resources you'll find.

  • Build your Rig: Arrange infinite combos of over 70 weapons, items, gear and skills. Upgrade each and rearrange your board to take advantage of whatever you can scavenge.

  • Fight its Inhabitants: Once a day you'll need to fight one of the 15+ inhabitants of The City who have become dark twisted monsters. Choose your opponents wisely and you'll get enough experience to level up your rig, expanding its space.

  • Face other Players: At midnight you'll need to defend yourself against another random player's Rig. Each day your Rig is uploaded to a pool of potential players which means you can play at your own pace.

  • Rule the City: You have 10 days and 5 lives to make it to the core. As you survive and go deeper you'll discover more complicated items. Only the best can craft devious boards that take advantage of their builds to top the leaderboards and make it to the end.

How long can you keep your life on the rails?
