What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Global Protocol: New World Order is an ambitious grand strategy game with deeply interconnected systems — economy, military, diplomacy, espionage, AI decision-making, and nuclear deterrence — all operating across 261 real-world nations and over 3,600 provinces. Getting these systems to feel right requires more than internal testing. We need real players pushing the boundaries of every mechanic, exposing edge cases, and telling us what feels compelling versus what falls flat.

Early Access lets us put a fully playable game in your hands now while we refine balance, deepen AI behavior, strengthen diplomatic logic, and ensure that every system adds genuine strategic value — not just complexity for its own sake. Your feedback directly shapes the final product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate Early Access lasting between 6 months and 1 year, though it may extend beyond that if needed. The timeline depends on the depth of feedback we receive and the quality bar we set for the full release. We would rather take the time to get it right than rush to a 1.0 that doesn't meet our standards. We will communicate our progress openly and regularly through development updates.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a complete, playable grand strategy game with all core systems functional: economy, military, diplomacy, technology, espionage, events, nuclear deterrence, fog of war, and 5 victory conditions across 261 nations.

The full release will build on this foundation with:

- Refined game balance — economic growth rates, military combat values, and resource distribution tuned through real player data
- Smarter AI — more realistic diplomatic decisions, better strategic planning, and more believable personality-driven behavior
- Deeper diplomacy — richer negotiation mechanics, more meaningful alliance dynamics, and consequences that feel authentic to real-world geopolitics
- More compelling event chains — expanded scripted events, better procedural event generation, and deeper narrative impact from player choices
- Quality-of-life improvements — UI refinements, accessibility options, and workflow improvements based on player feedback
- Additional language support beyond English
- Potential new features driven by community demand

Every system in the game will be evaluated against one standard: does it add genuine strategic value and create interesting decisions for the player?”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish. You can:

- Play as any of 261 real-world nations, each with real 2026 data (GDP, population, military, alliances, resources)
- Manage your economy: budget allocation, building construction, resource trade, and infrastructure development across 20 building types
- Command your military: 13 unit types across land, sea, and air with movement, combat, and logistics
- Conduct diplomacy: alliances, trade deals, sanctions, war declarations, peace negotiations, and engagement with international organizations (UN, G7, G20)
- Research 47 technologies across 3 branches
- Run espionage operations with real-world intelligence agencies
- Navigate nuclear deterrence through the DEFCON escalation system with 5 missile types
- Experience 100+ scripted events based on 2026 geopolitical scenarios
- Pursue 5 distinct victory conditions or play indefinitely in sandbox mode
- Save and load your progress at any time

What we're actively improving: AI decision quality, economic balance, diplomatic realism, event depth, and overall polish. The core game is solid; Early Access is about making every piece excellent.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The game is priced lower during Early Access to reflect its in-development state and to reward players who support us early. We plan to increase the price at full release to reflect the expanded content, refined balance, and additional features developed during the Early Access period. Early Access players will always retain access to the full game at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is the reason we chose Early Access. Here's how we'll work together:

- Steam Community Discussions — Our primary feedback channel. We read everything. Report bugs, suggest features, debate balance, and share strategies.
- Regular development updates — We will post detailed patch notes and development logs so you always know what's changing and why.
- Balance feedback priority — If a mechanic feels unfair, a country feels too easy or too hard, or an AI decision seems unrealistic, we want to hear about it. These reports directly influence our development priorities.
- Feature requests — We have a clear vision for the game, but the best ideas often come from players. Suggestions that align with the game's strategic depth and realism goals will be seriously considered.
- Bug reports — Detailed reports with steps to reproduce help us fix issues faster. We aim to address critical bugs promptly.

This is a game about the complexity of the real world. Building it right requires a community that cares about getting the details right — and we believe that's exactly the kind of community grand strategy players are.”

About This Game

Take Command of the Modern World

Available Now in Early Access

Global Protocol: New World Order is a data-driven grand strategy game set in the real world of 2026. Play as any of 261 playable countries — from global superpowers to developing states — and navigate the complex web of modern geopolitics, economics, warfare, and diplomacy.

Every country starts with real-world data: GDP, population, military strength, alliances, resources, and political systems. What happens next is up to you.

Every Nation, Your Way

Choose from 261 playable countries, each rated on a 5-star difficulty scale. Lead the United States and maintain global hegemony, guide Brazil through economic transformation, or take on the ultimate challenge with a fragile state fighting for survival. Over 4,600 provinces cover the entire world — every region matters.

Deep Strategic Systems

  • Economy — Manage GDP growth, inflation, trade agreements, resource extraction, budgets, and construction. Build 69 different building types across economic, military, infrastructure, research, social, defense, and intelligence categories.
  • Military — Command 17 unit types across land, sea, and air. Assemble armies, deploy fleets, launch air missions, manage logistics, and fight wars of attrition or lightning strikes.
  • Technology — Research 53 technologies across Military, Civilian, and Space branches. Unlock new capabilities, improve your economy, and gain strategic advantages.
  • Espionage — Build intelligence agencies, run covert operations, steal technology, sabotage rivals, and protect your own secrets. Real-world agencies like the CIA, MI6, FSB, and Mossad each bring unique advantages.

Shape the Global Order

Diplomacy goes far beyond simple alliances. Negotiate trade deals, impose multilateral sanctions through the UN Security Council, form and break military pacts like NATO or the Shanghai Pact, join economic blocs, and compete for prestige on the world stage. The G7, G20, and UNSC are active bodies whose decisions reshape the global balance of power.

A Living World

Each country is governed by its own AI personality — aggressive, cautious, opportunistic, or isolationist. 68 scripted events draw from real-world 2026 flashpoints, while procedural events react to your decisions. Alliance betrayals, economic crises, border disputes, and regime changes unfold dynamically. Every action has consequences that ripple across the globe.

Command Your Forces

Deploy infantry, armor, artillery, fighters, bombers, helicopters, destroyers, submarines, and carriers across a detailed world map. Establish air superiority, blockade enemy ports, transport armies across oceans, and manage the fuel and manpower that keep your war machine running. Fog of war ensures that intelligence is as valuable as firepower.

Nuclear Deterrence

The DEFCON system tracks global nuclear tension across 5 escalation levels. Nine nuclear-armed nations possess ICBMs, SLBMs, cruise missiles, tactical warheads, and hypersonic weapons. Launch a first strike — or hold your arsenal as the ultimate deterrent. Mutual Assured Destruction is not just a theory; it is a game mechanic.

Victory on Your Terms

Pursue one of 5 victory conditions:

  • Military Hegemony — Dominate through territorial control and unchallenged military power
  • Economic Dominance — Build the world's largest economy with unrivaled trade networks
  • Diplomatic Victory — Win global support through prestige, alliances, and UN influence
  • Tech Supremacy — Lead the world in research and technological advancement
  • UN Mandate — Shape international law through decades of diplomatic leadership
Or ignore victory conditions entirely and play in sandbox mode with no time limit.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game uses generative AI in the following ways:

Art assets: Store page capsule art, in-game UI icons (unit types, building types, resource types, cursors, notification icons), and promotional imagery were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then reviewed, composited, and finalized by the development team. Country flags are real-world flags sourced from public datasets, not AI-generated.

Audio: Sound effects and music tracks were generated with the assistance of AI tools, then curated, edited, and mixed by the development team.

Map and terrain: Map textures, heightmaps, and province geometry are derived from real-world public domain geodata (Natural Earth shapefiles, NASA SRTM elevation data), not generated by AI.

Game data: Country statistics, province data, economic figures, and military data are sourced from real-world public datasets (World Bank, REST Countries API, Natural Earth) and processed through deterministic data pipelines, not generated by AI.

Gameplay and simulation: Game logic, AI behavior, economic formulas, combat resolution, and diplomacy systems were developed with the assistance of AI coding tools, then reviewed, tested, and refined by the development team. No generative AI is used at runtime during gameplay.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Global Protocol: New World Order is a grand strategy game that depicts modern geopolitical conflict, including warfare, military operations, nuclear weapons strategy, economic sanctions, and espionage. All content is presented at a strategic map level using unit icons, province overlays, and statistical readouts; there is no graphic violence, gore, blood, dismemberment, sexual content, nudity, or disturbing imagery. Nuclear strikes are represented by map effects and statistical consequences, not graphic depictions. The game involves themes of war, occupation, regime change, and global power competition in a political/strategic context appropriate for a general audience.
