A.K.O. started with a simple idea:

What if an AI could actually live on your desktop and be useful?

Instead of building another chatbot that sits inside a browser, I wanted to make something that could interact with your PC, talk with you naturally, help with everyday tasks, create things with you, and simply be there when you need it.

So I built A.K.O.

She's an experimental, continuously developing desktop AI companion made by a single developer. A.K.O. is still evolving, and new ideas, features, improvements, and experiments are continuously being added.

As a solo developer, I'm continuously experimenting with new ideas and figuring out what an AI-powered desktop application can actually be.

Some features may change. Some experiments may not work exactly as expected. And there will always be more things I'd like to improve.

A.K.O. is my attempt at bringing together the things I find interesting about AI into one desktop application:

an AI you can talk to, an assistant that can interact with your PC, creative tools you can experiment with, and an avatar that makes the experience feel a little more alive.

It's not perfect.

It's not finished.

But I'm building it because I think there's something interesting about having an AI that actually lives on your desktop.
