What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DOOM OF THE UNDYING is built around build-crafting, time-based escalation, and high replayability. Early Access lets us ship the core experience now and improve it with community feedback—especially around balance, difficulty spikes, hero viability, and the risk/reward of pacts and cursed upgrades.

We want players to help us tune progression, expand content (heroes, blessings, curses, bosses, and enemy variants), and polish game feel (controls, readability, performance, and UX). We’ll update frequently and use feedback to prioritize what we build next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect DOOM OF THE UNDYING to remain in Early Access for 12 months. This timeline may change based on community feedback and the scope of additional content and polish.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we plan to expand DOOM OF THE UNDYING with more content and more polish. That includes additional heroes, blessings/abilities, cursed upgrades, pacts & trials, enemy variants, and boss awakenings, along with improvements to progression, balance, difficulty scaling, UI/UX, performance, and accessibility options. We don't exclude the possibility of creating multiple worlds with different enemies/bosses etc”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core systems and is actively in development. Players can experience the main loop—surviving escalating waves, building power through blessings and upgrades, and facing major threats as the run goes on. Content variety, balance, progression tuning, and polish (UI/UX, readability, performance, and quality-of-life) are still being expanded based on feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan for DOOM OF THE UNDYING to be priced lower during Early Access. As we add more content and features and move toward full release, we expect the price to increase. We intend to ship ongoing updates during Early Access, but plans may change as development evolves”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community heavily throughout Early Access. We’ll gather feedback from the Steam forums, patch notes discussions, and in-game/Discord feedback (if applicable) to prioritize improvements—especially balance, difficulty tuning, hero/build viability, pacing of escalation, and the risk/reward of pacts and cursed upgrades. We plan to ship regular updates, share what we’re working on, and iterate quickly based on what players are enjoying (or struggling with).”
