About This Game

Embrace Destiny

High above the heavens flies Providence, a long lost alien civilization searching for survival as it draws closer to death's door. Before its final breath, a new hope was on the horizon...

Aetherica: Echoes of Exodus is a 2D action adventure set in a large, futuristic spacecraft. Explore the ship inside and out to discover the many occupants and hidden mysteries left inside Providence.

Meet:

Not much is known about the little silent one, but her ability to control organic matter is extraordinary. Throughout the journey, there will be much danger and diverse opposition, but like nature itself, Floria is adaptable. Learn, imbue, and expel your way to victory.

Hovering over your shoulder flies Kipp, who is one of the most advanced robots ever created. He is highly intelligent, but lacks experience and knowledge of the world he lives in. Throughout the journey, witness his perception of the world change as you stride closer to the truth.

Providence is no ordinary spacecraft. It was built as a utopian city, harboring many with great minds and talents. The ones deemed worthy enough to occupy this city are viewed as pure and civilized, which would be needed to maintain structure. The occupants witnessed their home world fall to war, causing them to flee to avoid inevitable extinction. They believed that if they honor the Ten Precepts of Providence, they will avoid the mistakes that were made on their former home. Unfortunately, their nature can never be truly be avoided...

Game Features:

Story and Gameplay

Aetherica: Echoes of Exodus introduces a unique experience by offering the ability to choose between a playthrough that is more focused on story or gameplay. This feature, separated by game modes, gives players a completely different way of digesting the narrative being told.

Give Me More Story offers players a guided, story rich narrative that dives deep into the city of Providence. Cutscenes, voiced characters, and a more linear story is provided for a more casual and accessible playthrough.

Give Me More Gameplay offers players free reign to explore Providence the way that they choose. Exploring the halls, reach a barrier, then gaining access will be the strategy used to guide yourself throughout your journey.

Movement and Combat

The movement and combat presented here are very tight and complex. Unlike most 2D platformers, the combat is just as important as movement, allowing players to have completely different styles form one another throughout the campaign. For example, players have the ability to sprint, allowing fast paced traversal and many additions to combat like running attacks to add a further knockback.

As far as movement, the climbing has been made to give players a new meaning to full control of a character. Floria has the ability to concur platforms by climbing, jumping up, jumping off, and more, opening a multitude of options to traverse during travel and even during combat.

The combat gives players the choice to truly master the abilities in Floria's dense arsenal. Basic attacks, special attacks, light attacks, and heavy attacks will all be used in various battles. Players will also have the option to chain attacks to deal unique and powerful attacks, opening many possibilities for creative and engaging experiences.

Allies and Enemies

Throughout the game, Kipp and Floria will come across a variety of characters of many different sizes, shapes, and intentions. There will be allies and enemies, but there will also be characters that are neutral, and it will be up to you to choose who you want on your side.

Allies offer a variety of benefits throughout your adventure. A good standing can allow better offers when bartering, aid during various combat encounters, and even turning boss fights into interventions. Allies also offer optional side quests that will give you loot and abilities that are worth the trouble.

Enemies are a very big obstacle to triumph over. They will have many strengths, forcing you to adapt and change the way you engage them in order to exploit their weaknesses. But before you get too comfortable, enemies will have the ability to adapt as well, putting you in a position to approach these encounters differently.

Environment and World Building

Providence offers a distinct variety of locations with varying purposes. From the overpopulated living quarters, to the Organic Research Sector, it is very apparent that the city does not revolve around Kipp and Floria. The city is very much alive and filled with its own conflicts, but throughout the campaign you will leave an impression.

There are multiple factions that will be encountered relating to the location that they are seen. This will put you in a position where you have to adjust your combat based on enemy types. The diverse terrain includes linear horizontal corridors, vertical hallways, wide open arenas, and claustrophobic dungeons that will highlight the unique mechanics at your disposal in relation to your location.
