Game Update V1.9.6 - The Return of the 4 Shot AR

Another week another patch. A couple changes and bug fixes coming this week that you will want to read up on below. Alongside these changes we have the return of Weapon Roulette to the Arcade Mode.

Also, during the down time today we will be live streaming on twitch.tv/z1battleroyale (2pm PST / 10 PM GMT / 7 AMM JST) and spectating/playing in some Test Server solo matches while we test out a new "Easy Loot" mechanic. Looking to gather feedback from you all. Hope to see you there!

Edit: added "QoL Looting Change" to patch notes.

Weapon Roulette

If you hop into the arcade this week, you will find yourself dropping into a match of Weapon Roulette! Everyone will be equipped with the same firepower, but who can utilize it the best? Be prepared though as every so often your weapon will be swapped to another random weapon along with everyone else. The player who can survive the longest while making the best use of whatever weapon manifests itself in there hands will be the victor!

The Return of the 4 Shot AR-15
The AR-15 has been returned to its original 4 shot damage values. 25 damage to the helmet, 25 damage for body shots. Also, note that on a helmet hit the AR will apply a level 2 bleed.

QoL Looting Change
There is now a small buffer around items when looting, allowing them to be picked up a bit easier. This has made looting a faster and more fluid process. Get your loot quick, so you can get to collecting those eliminations faster. We dub this "Easy Loot".

Crate Opening
Have a old locked crate? Have some skulls laying around? These crates are now able to be unlocked using both skulls and crowns.

  • The Legendary Dread Pirate Eyepatch now has the "Try Me" button.
  • A few front porches on some of the houses in residential areas were not acting as solid objects when interacting with a vehicle. These have been fixed and will no longer allow vehicles to drive through them.
  • Fixed issue where the animation network could get out of sync if it was out of your view. Ex. the standing/crouch bug when you turn your camera around.
  • Renamed Lost Elf Bandana to Green Face Bandana to prevent Steam Marketplace complications.
  • Fixed an issue where players could access the Skull store to buy Victory crates.
  • Fixed an issue where Region select was calculating an extra 10ms to ping time.

Game Update V1.9.5 - Boot Camp!

What's up guys!

We have a quite a few changes coming this week to different systems (weapons, movement, audio, etc.) in the game. Alongside these changes we also have a brand new Arcade Mode and the first wave previously untradeable skins will unlock!

Expected down time for this patch is 3 hours starting at 2 PM PST / 10 PM GMT / 7 AM JST. See you all on the otherside!

Boot Camp Arcade Mode

Welcome to Boot Camp!

If you have ever played a standard BR (Solos, Duos, or Fives) you are going to know exactly what is going on as you drop in, loot up, and slay out on your way to that coveted #1 spot! This is the BR mode we love only you will be parachuting into the Combat Training map! All rules that exist in the standard BR play mode apply here. Stay safe and good luck in Boot Camp, you'll need it. ;)

Wave 1 Tradable Skins
With this patch we are kicking off the tradable skins schedule. Each wave of skins will become tradable in the first patch of each month. The schedule for these skins can be found on Z1RoadMap.com.

Skins for this week:
  • Blue - Gray Tanktop
  • Blue Flower Shemagh
  • Orange Shemagh
  • Teal Shemagh
  • Hugz Needed Scrubs Shirt
  • Hugz Needed Scrubs Pants

Weapon Tuning and Audio Changes
  • The shotgun has had a tuning pass on damage, recoil, and its pellet pattern to fall more in line with PS3. The pellet pattern is a static/non rotating pattern to give the weapon a consistent predictable pattern.
  • The magnum has had the damage and recoil set to PS3 values.
  • The M9 movement speeds related to strafe were not correct. This issue has been corrected.
  • Audio for remote players firing the AR-15 has been tuned to be closer to PS3. (Running the original file through the current system the same way the AK and Shotgun we changed in patch 1.9.3)

Idle Animation and Movement When Hit
  • The idle animation on remote players will no longer occur at longer distances
  • You will no longer be removed from sprint when damaged, regardless of the damage source (bullet, grenade, melee, etc)

World Cleanup
  • Christmas decorations have been removed from both the Z2 and Combat Training maps.
  • Combat Training time of day has been changed to 10am to match Solo, Duos, and Fives setting.
  • The M1911 will now only spawn 1 ammo box.

Bug Fixes
  • We have fixed the exploit of emoting while on an ATV and jumping off to force yourself under ground.
  • Fusion Crossbow, Varsity Sweatpants, Barbed Motorcross ATV, and Ice Cream Cone M9 now have proper Steam Icons
  • Lost Elf Bandanna now has proper Steam icon. We are aware that the Steam skin name is still showing as Green Face Bandana rather than Lost Elf Bandana. (this will be corrected in another patch.)
  • We have removed the Hellfire Challenges from the challenge rotation system. (If you had a Hellfire challenge up it will disappear and be replaced on the daily challenge reset)
  • The Seraph AR15 no longer has an extraneous VFX trail when picked up off of the ground.
  • The double audio bug on the AK47 has been fixed.
  • Fixed spectate button showing for the 1st and 2nd place teams at the end of a match.
  • The throwable cooldown timer was not always appearing after throwing. This has been fixed.
  • Crate Preview - Edge of white plane is no longer visible when viewing Vehicles and Parachute.
  • Removed the slot blocking the eyes from the Lucha mask
  • Various minor fixes for Z2 map.
