About This Game

Make the card you wish you had

What if the answer to a tough opponent was a card you designed yourself? CardCraft Engineering brings card creation, deck building and turn-based battles together. Build your idea, play it, then return to the drawing board with a better plan.

Choose the cost. Shape the card.

Start with a blank card. Spend its budget on attack, health and skills: a tougher defender, a quick attacker, or an effect that sets up your next play. Each choice has a cost, so a good design begins with a clear purpose. Draw the artwork, import an image, or leave it blank and focus on the mechanics.

Build a deck around your own combinations

Bring your creations together in a 30-card deck for regular battles. Combine effects, balance your costs and test the idea against local AI. Change what did not work, then take your deck into Steam online PvP against other players.

Let the battlefield test your design

When to play a card, which unit to trade and which effect to save are all part of the design. A card that looks powerful on its own still needs the right moment and the right partners. Every match gives you another reason to revise it.

Five acts. A deck that grows with the journey.

Enter the Gearworks, Forge City, Frozen Archive, Scrap Graveyard and Core Temple. Choose a route through battles, workshops, merchants and repairs. Each region introduces its own rules, from assembly rhythms and furnace heat to archived cards and reclaimed scrap.

Fuse, sacrifice and rebuild your cards while managing durability and instability. Their lineages record where they came from and what they survived. Reach the core and decide whether to release the workshop or take it into another cycle.

Make something worth sharing

Publish your cards and decks on Steam Workshop, discover other players' ideas, and bring new combinations back to the table. There are no card packs to open before you can start creating.

A note from the creator

Hand-drawn paper cards on a green cutting mat show the original prototype concept for CardCraft Engineering.
The hand-drawn paper-card prototype that started the project.
CardCraft Engineering began during the school lockdown of my second year of high school. Our phones were put away, so a few friends and I drew cards on scraps of paper and played a handmade version of a card battler. It was rough, immediate, and endlessly fun.

Later I played commercial card games and ran into the wall that inspired this project: without opening packs, the cards needed for a new deck were simply out of reach. I wanted a game where the interesting part was making the card, not chasing it. The idea followed me through my final school year. During my first university break I chose Godot because it was light and approachable, then built a small prototype called General Simulator to learn the craft. The real system still fought back through the following semester.

The turning point was the arrival of coding agents such as Codex. They helped me turn long stretches of design and debugging into quick prototypes I could actually play. By the break after my second year, the core of CardCraft Engineering was finally on the table. This game is the result of that long loop: draw an idea, test it, rebuild it, and keep going.
