Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Space Hauler is being made by a very small team. Early Access lets us get the game into your hands sooner and incorporate your feedback throughout development. As a simulation-heavy game with deep, interconnected systems, Space Hauler benefits enormously from early player input.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to build on the game's systems and content for two years in Early Access before the full version is released.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the Saturnian system and primarily Titan. Over the course of development, we plan to expand into other places in the Solar System and add more ships with unique capabilities. For the full version, we plan to implement more varied gameplay surrounding the core piloting experience, such as mining, search & rescue, and space station building.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the Saturnian system and primarily on its largest moon, Titan. It features simulated n-body orbital mechanics and aerodynamics with proprotors and control surfaces. The Saturnian system is recreated at full scale and visually authentic to the real place.

There will be one flyable spacecraft for the initial Early Access release. The VT-100, a VTOL cargo spaceplane, capable of flying efficiently in Titan's atmosphere using its proprotors, and reach orbit with its rocket engines.

A job market lets you choose contracts to fulfill, varying from basic cargo transport to scientific surveys, orbital satellite insertion and search and rescue. These jobs earn you money to spend on upgrades for your ship.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan on changing the price during Early Access, but plan on raising it after the game exits Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Space Hauler aims to create a new space sim experience rooted in realism and hard sci-fi, an endeavor that would be impossible without feedback from players and fellow enthusiasts in space, flight, and technology. Discord and Steam Discussions will serve as the primary channels for suggestions and feedback. We also plan to run a Test Pilot Program, where players can sign up for closed playtesting of new features and content before public release.”

About This Game

Master the skies of Titan in a hard-physics space flight simulator. Step into a fully interactive cockpit and manage true-to-life aerodynamics and orbital mechanics to complete freelance contracts and make a name for yourself on the frontier. All in a full scale recreation of the Saturnian system.

FULL COCKPIT CONTROL

The cockpit is fully interactive, where every button, switch and dial has a function. Inspired by real avionics and analog instruments, Space Hauler brings that flight sim depth to the outer Solar System.

TITAN

The game focuses on the Saturnian system and its largest moon, Titan. It's the only moon in the Solar System with a dense atmosphere, four times denser than Earth's, and with its forgiving, low gravity, it's the perfect place to earn your wings as a pilot. Titan, and the Saturnian system, has been faithfully recreated in full scale based on real data and observations.

FLIGHT PHYSICS

Your spacecraft follows the same rules as the real thing. Aerodynamic lift and drag govern flight inside Titan's thick atmosphere, with control surfaces keeping you in command, and once you climb above it, orbital mechanics take over.

THE SPACE TRUCKER FANTASY

You're a pilot-for-hire on the frontier. Pick up cargo runs between surface bases, air-drop supplies to remote outposts, deploy satellites into specific orbits, rendezvous with a stranded ship to transfer fuel, or dock with a station that's spinning out of control.

The jobs vary, the pay varies, and what you do with the money is up to you: upgrade your ship, save up for something bigger, or just go see what's out there.

VR & HOTAS

Immerse yourself in the experience with optional VR support, and fly with your preferred HOTAS, flight stick, or gamepad.
