What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Iteru is an MMO: one shared world that only comes alive with players in it. We want the community in the world early, so the way people actually play shapes the economy, the ranks and the content we build next. Early Access lets us grow the world in the open, with players, instead of guessing behind closed doors.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to stay in Early Access for about a year, but we will leave it only when the world is ready, not on a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add more of the Nile valley: new places, more trades and higher ranks on the ladder toward the Vizier's circle, more creatures and bosses, opt-in PvP arenas and caravan routes, many more townspeople voiced in ancient Egyptian, player votes on new content, and more languages and polish. Your progress carries over: standing is never reset by an update.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You arrive at Giza in 2540 BCE: the harbour, the workers' town, the quarry, the Sphinx and the pyramids on one continuous map. You can haul stone for the Great Work with your gang, craft in the trades, trade on one shared market, rise in rank, fight, and play with friends and parties. Expect missing features, rough edges and bugs while we build.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. Iteru is free to play during and after Early Access. The shop sells cosmetics and convenience only: never power, never loot boxes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam forums, our Discord and in-game feedback, regular development updates on Steam, and player votes on new content (the core pillars are never on the ballot). Playtests come before every major update.”

About This Game

Giza, 2540 BCE. Khufu's pyramid already gleams in white limestone. Khafre's is still a stepped core wrapped in ramps, and the Sphinx is being cut out of the living rock. Iteru is a free-to-play MMO about the people who built it, made in Egypt in our own engine.

Live at the Great Work

Step off the barge at the harbour with your first day's work ahead of you. Report to your gang, join a work watch and haul stone for the Great Work beside other players. The first hour teaches you the plateau one job at a time.

Rise in rank, not gear tiers

Your progress is your place in society. The ladder climbs from Laborer through Overseer, Artisan and Scribe toward the Vizier's circle. Standing is earned through deeds, never decays and is never reset by an update. There are no gear tiers to grind and throw away.

One world, one economy

No shards, no server list. Everyone lives in the same Giza and trades on one market, the Register, with real price history and market fees. Trade face to face, send mail, add friends and form parties.

Craft what Egypt ran on

Bake bread, brew beer, throw pottery, weave linen, work wood and stone, make papyrus, and cast copper tools stamped with your maker's mark, so every buyer knows whose work they hold.

Built from the history

One continuous map runs from the harbour and the town to the quarry, the Sphinx and the pyramids. The setting, ranks and trades are drawn from the archaeology of Old Kingdom Giza and checked by hand.

Fair free-to-play, loudly

Express yourself with emotes and capture the plateau in photo mode. When you want a fight, it is your choice: test yourself in the arena and its rankings, or ride with a caravan where raiders and escorts meet by consent. No one is ever forced into PvP while they work. The shop sells cosmetics and convenience only: never power, never loot boxes.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Iteru is built by a solo developer in Egypt, in his own engine, with AI tools used during development.

- 3D models: many characters and props start as reference images made with an image-generation model and are turned into 3D meshes by an image-to-3D model running offline on our own hardware. Every model is then cleaned up, scaled, retextured, rigged and animated by us, art-directed to one style guide and reviewed in the engine before it ships. Some texture passes use local AI tools (for example lighting removal and upscaling).
- Code: programming was assisted by an AI coding assistant; every change is reviewed, built and tested by us.
- Text: AI tools helped draft design text, in-game text and translations; historical content is checked by hand against published archaeology, and translations are reviewed by people.
- Music and sound: composed and synthesised by our own code and CC0 instrument samples. No AI music or voice service was used.
- Store screenshots, GIFs and trailers are real-time captures from the game engine.

No AI content is generated live while the game runs.
