About This Game

CASE: THE WORLD.

VERDICT: GUILTY.

The Judge knew not everyone was guilty.

He condemned the whole world anyway.

Now Corruption carries out the sentence: devouring the last lands and leaving the Void behind. You have already died trying to stop it. The Architect rebuilt you from ash—now you must reach the Judge and break the sentence while there is still something left to save.

Ashen Swarm is a gothic bullet heaven roguelite where the seven deadly sins become weapons and the court gathers over every run.

TURN SIN INTO A WEAPON

Pride drowns the swarm in filth, turns the rabble into squealing swine, and blows the herd apart. Wrath spreads fire through the crowd and detonates every burning enemy at once. Gluttony turns the fallen into food until the arena becomes a feast.

Keep the Oath while the Tempter searches for a way to talk you into falling. Or enter already tainted: your hero’s skill changes, and dangerous bargains let you raise Corruption for greater power—making every mistake more dangerous.

A LIE OUTLIVES THE RUN

Each run brings someone who can still be saved—or broken.

A blind stonecutter asks you to describe the face of a Guardian who died in the fire. Tell the truth—or place his hands on your face and claim another’s sacrifice.

He will carve your face into the statue.

In later runs, people will pray before your image.

THE COURT GATHERS ABOVE YOU

Every minute, another Juror takes a seat. At 13:13, the Foreman takes the thirteenth—and the Collegium descends into the arena to carry out the sentence.

Between runs, the Architect rebuilds the Effigy—the last one who reached the Judge and lost. Every permanent upgrade restores more of its body and strength. As you grow stronger, it becomes whole.

At the final judgment, that will prove either foresight—or a very expensive mistake.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Ashen Swarm features intense fantasy combat against large hordes of creatures. The game contains stylized violence and gore (enemies disintegrate into ash), and occasional strong language in text-based narrative events. Players may encounter dark fantasy themes and moral dilemmas involving textual descriptions of sacrifices or physical harm during specific gameplay events.
