About This Game

A Game Rooted In History

Tafl style games originated in north western Europe and were popular with the Vikings who took the game from the snowy forests of Lapland to the lush green coastline of Ireland and every where in between. Along the way they invented multiple variations of the game but kept the same core mechanic throughout.

The Jarl and their loyal defenders start in the centre of the board and are surrounded by a larger force of attackers. The attackers must capture the Jarl before they escape the board. The moves are simple to learn but devilishly difficult to master where one mistake from either side can often be their last!

With an ELO style points system in place play against opponents from all over the world, either locally or online. Participating in regular events and tournaments will earn you points and rewards allowing you to determine who really is the best player in the world.
