About This Game

Hauntworks is a dark comedy management sim where you build and run a supernatural attraction at the edge of Limbo. Design your spooky mansion, manage your monster employees and build automated production chains that run on the emotions of your guests. Turn screams, laughter (or vomit) into resources, unlock new rooms and abilities and expand your operation while keeping "accidents" and their evidence hidden from the supernatural bureau.

Build and customize your haunted attraction room by room. Place traps, create scare setups, and optimize the flow of guests as you expand your supernatural operation.

Emotions are your greatest resource. Use scares, spells, monsters and supernatural tricks to generate screams, laughter, vomit and mind shards that fuel your growing attraction.

Hire and manage a team of creatures each with a personality, skill set, and needs of their own. They are not easy, but they get the job done. Experiment to find where they are most useful. Oh — and they may occasionally slay a customer.

Compress, combine, and refine these materials into increasingly absurd products using an automated pipe system to fulfill supernatural requests from Limbo’s patrons.

"Accidents" happen, right? Guest deaths attract attention, some of it warranted, but always unwanted. You'll need to dispose of any bodies before the supernatural bureau catches on. Otherwise you may have to sweet talk them. How you handle the Bureau determines how much time you have.

Hauntworks is a dark comedy about running a haunted house. Guests can die as a result of the scares you build, and their bodies become raw material: you can drag them to a furnace, or let your undertaker staff process them into crafting resources. This is shown in a stylized, cartoon low-poly art style, with red blood effects — splash particles, ground stains, and one staff character who works on corpses with a cleaver. No dismemberment or mutilation is depicted.

The story includes two brief non-interactive cinematics dealing with the player character's own accidental death.

The game also contains mild profanity and comedic references to death, bodily functions, and crime.
