Why Early Access?

“As both a game developer and a gamer, I understand how important community feedback is in creating the best possible experience. Early Access gives players the opportunity to share their ideas, report issues, and help shape the future of Depthwake throughout development.

My goal is to work closely with the community, refining existing systems and expanding the game based on player feedback while continuing to develop new content and features.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I am aiming for 18-24 months for full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Depthwake is planned to feature a more in-depth story, a larger and deeper ocean to explore, additional biomes, new technologies, expanded submarine upgrades, and further player progression systems.

During Early Access, I plan to continue improving the game’s world, systems, content, and overall experience. We may also use player feedback to help guide development priorities, while keeping our plans flexible as we work toward the final release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Players can currently progress through Tiers 1–3 while exploring 3.24 km² of ocean, with a depth cap of 600 metres. Learn how different species react to your presence, identify which creatures pose a threat, and adapt your approach as you venture deeper.

The current Early Access version features three distinct biomes to explore, each offering unique resources, environments, and challenges.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain the same during Early Access. After the full release, we expect to increase the price to reflect the additional content, features, and polish added to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout the development of Depthwake. Players will be able to share suggestions, report bugs, provide balancing feedback, and discuss ideas through the official Discord server and Steam Community forums.

I plan to actively listen to player feedback during Early Access, using it to help refine existing systems, improve gameplay, and guide future content updates. While not every suggestion can be implemented, community input will be a key part of shaping the final experience.”
