About This Game

The horde is the problem. Your build is the answer.

NIGHTFALL SURGE is a top-down arena survival roguelite. Fight alone or with up to two friends in Steam online co-op. Dodge the crowd, unleash your signature ability and turn the dead into materials for your next bad idea.

Craft your own kind of overkill

Three weapon slots. Weapons to fuse. Enchants to socket. Relics that grow with your level. Combine these systems to create your own build, then keep changing it as the run unfolds. Your survivor is the starting point, not the finished plan.

Fuse. Upgrade. Experiment.

In Fusion, combine two weapons into a hybrid: choose its body and balance its payload. Add enchants, improve weapon levels and rarity, and build around the bonuses you find. Between waves, spend materials on weapons, items and relics; reroll the offers or lock something for later.

Try a weapon in the range preview before committing. Check the wave damage report to see which weapons actually delivered. Keep the combinations that work. Sell the mistakes.

Bring friends. Bring different builds.

Up to three players share the arena in online co-op. Combine your loadouts and revive downed teammates when the horde gives you an opening. The damage report breaks down every player and their weapons. Someone will still blame the lag.

10 survivors. A different starting point for every run.

Unlock survivors through account progression. Each has a starting weapon, stat profile, favoured weapon type and signature ability. Try the Brawler, Field Medic, Firefighter, Chemist, Cryotech and the rest of the roster. Every survivor can use all four weapon types: melee, guns, deployables and magic.

Win the run. Or see how far you can push it.

Clear 20 waves on Danger I, II or III. Face tougher pressure, elites and bosses as you climb the difficulties. HELL brings a meteor storm from wave one and rotating weekly affixes.

HELL does not end at wave 20

After the final resupply, HELL becomes continuous survival: no more shop breaks, just escalating enemies and returning bosses until you fall. Compete on the weekly leaderboard and keep unlocking survivors and cosmetics between runs.

Blood, crude humour and weapons with questionable names. The city is beyond saving. Your build might not be.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

NIGHTFALL SURGE is an 18+ pixel-art game. It contains constant pixel blood and gore (a horde of monsters is killed in the thousands per run, dismemberment is stylised at low resolution), strong language and crude humour throughout — the names of weapons, items and enchants are profane, and the in-game narration makes jokes about death, violence and bodily functions. There is no nudity and no sexual content beyond crude verbal jokes between adults, no depiction of real people or real-world groups, and no gambling with real money.
