The Beginning of the Signal Hill Series

This demo is the official starting point of the full Signal Hill series.

The Outskirts isn't a spin-off, it's the first playable chapter in Elijah Kade's long investigation into the Resonance Phenomenon. From here, the plan is to expand into the full game Signal Hill and future entries that continue his book.

If you like what you see here, please wishlist Signal Hill to follow the rest of the story.

About This Demo

Signal Hill: Demo (The Outskirts) is the first playable slice of the full game Signal Hill, a grounded psychological horror series about the mysterious Resonance Phenomenon and the stories people tell about it.

The Outskirts isn't a separate game title, it's the specific story chapter this demo is built around.

In this demo, Elijah Kade, the writer putting together the book Signal Hill, invites you into his private room and asks you to walk him through what really happened during The Outskirts Incident. Through his recordings and your actions, he's trying to fill in the blanks in his manuscript… and decide what deserves to be remembered.

This demo is a focused, atmospheric experience meant to show you the tone, pacing and direction of the full game – not a finished product.

What you'll do in the demo:

  • Meet Elijah indirectly. Sit down in his office, surrounded by his notes and quiet obsessions, and listen to his pre-recorded messages as he sets the rules: no lies, no heroics, just memory.

  • Relive a single "chapter" of the book. The demo focuses on The Outskirts, a cold, lonely area on the edge of town tied to early Resonance activity. It's a self-contained case with a beginning, middle and end.

  • Explore at your own pace. Move through a grounded environment instead of a maze of jump-scares. Expect slow-burn tension, environmental storytelling, and the feeling that you're somewhere you probably shouldn't be.

  • Make choices that shape Elijah's version of events. Your decisions and behavior are treated as "statements" that Elijah will interpret when he writes the chapter. In the full game, these choices will ripple across multiple incidents.

  • Experience a first pass of the game's atmosphere. Audio logs, ambient sound design and lighting are the focus here. This is a taste of the mood I'm building toward for the full release.

What this demo is:

  • A 30-60 minute slice of gameplay, depending on how much you explore.

  • A look at the Elijah Kade framing: his room, his voice, his book.

  • A single story chapter called The Outskirts. Not a standalone game, but one incident inside the larger Signal Hill book.

  • A chance to feel the tone: grounded, slow, and more about dread than cheap jump-scares.

  • A technical and creative testbed I'm actively building on.

What this demo is not:

  • Not the final visual quality, pacing or length of the full game.

  • Not all mechanics and systems, a lot is still in development.

  • Not a full multi-chapter story yet; this is one contained incident/area.

  • Not representative of final co-op plans (right now the demo is focused on single-player; online co-op is planned for the full game and may be experimented with later in the demo).

About the project:

Signal Hill is designed as a book of incidents. Each game, and each chapter inside it, is another piece of Elijah's investigation into the Resonance Phenomenon. People experience strange events. Elijah interviews them, gathers fragments, and tries to stitch all of it into something that makes sense... or at least reads like the truth.

This demo is the first public step toward that bigger vision. I'm building it mostly solo, learning and iterating as I go, and your feedback will directly shape where it goes next.

If you play the demo:

  • Wishlist the full game if you like the direction.

  • Drop feedback, thoughts or bugs. I actually read them.

  • And, most importantly, tell me how you experienced The Outskirts. That's the whole point of Signal Hill.

Thanks for checking out the demo.
