About This Game

Welcome to Idle Carousel! You're the new owner of an old park, and its carousel is ready to spin again. But the park is buried in clutter: leaves, sticks, last season's trash, even bits of broken rides. Let too much pile up and your carousel grinds to a halt! Earn Gold, upgrade your carousel, and bring new animals aboard to help clear the way to Opening Day. Stub, a very enthusiastic ticket, will show you around.

Your carousel does the work

At first, you'll handle a good bit of the cleanup yourself. Soon you'll have enough Gold to get some help! Horses earn Gold as they pass the ticket booths. Wolves sweep everything in their path. Giraffes reach clutter before it reaches you. Sloths slow clutter down. Elephants stomp hard near the rim. And Pandas earn Gold and patch your carousel up! Before long they'll be clearing the whole park without you.

Features

  • Six animal mounts, each with its own job, levels, and stars that change how it plays.

  • Six bosses, from a swirling Leaf Storm to an overflowing trash bin and a stuck gearbox, each stamped on your Season Ticket.

  • Restore the park: spend Park Supplies on lights, flower beds, food carts and more, and arrange them in the plaza you see every time you open the game.

  • A real ending, and more after it: restore the park, then start new seasons with Golden Tickets to spend at the Prize Booth, replay seasons with twists for bigger rewards, or take on three tough Expert seasons.

  • Desktop mode: shrink the game into a little round window that stays on top while you work. Open its drawer to buy mounts and upgrades without leaving it.

  • Idle-friendly: earn Gold while you're away, and if your carousel stalls, you never lose Gold or upgrades.

Why carousels?

My daughters love carousels, so we're always riding them! A park, a festival, the mall, the zoo: if there's a carousel, we're on it.

Every time we ride one, I'm thinking about how great they'd be in games. There haven't been many carousel games out there, so we're making our own.

Idle games are our favorite, so that's naturally where we're starting. Idle Carousel is one of the first games from Corbett's Castle, a tiny studio making carousel games. After this, we want to try carousel games in other genres too. Thanks for stopping by!

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI tools helped draft much of the game's English text (Stub's lines, tutorials, upgrade and achievement descriptions), which was reviewed and edited by hand, and provided the translations into eight additional languages; those translations haven't had a native-speaker review yet. No AI-generated images, audio or voices: the visuals are shapes drawn in code, plus a few Kenney CC0 sprites, the music is by Kevin MacLeod and Matthew Pablo (CC-BY) and Écrivain (CC0), and the sound effects are CC0 recordings from Kenney and Freesound. If you spot unclear or wrong wording in any language, please tell us in the Steam Discussions.
