Wellspring is a deep, simulation-heavy RPG inspired by classic MUDs and traditional roguelikes.

It is also a worldbuilding game. Everything you need to create an RPG world is built into the game itself: no coding, no scripting, and no external editors.

Play the full Gate 8 campaign on your own or with friends. It is a large, handcrafted RPG world built to show what Wellspring can do: character progression, exploration, quests, combat, simulated systems, strange places, and a world that continues to exist between adventures.

Use the GM Toolset to build and host your own RPG. Create maps, races, classes, NPCs, monsters, encounters, events, items, and game rules through in-game editors.

Run a short adventure with friends, build a long campaign, or host a persistent world that keeps its state between sessions. You can run it solo, with a few friends, or for groups of up to 16 players.

Your friends play for free

Only the host needs the full game.

Anyone can download the free Guest Client and join a hosted world without buying Wellspring. They can play that world's combat, explore its maps, talk to other players, join its adventures, and take part in the world you built.
