What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to build this game with the people playing it. Early Access is a great way to involve players in development, and I plan to use it to both expand and improve the game. I work alone on this game, and working directly with a community is the best way I know to make Victor Space Program better than I could make it on my own.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to remain in Early Access for around a year, but that could change depending on how the design develops with player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan for the full version of Victor Space Program to have additional content shaped by community feedback during the Early Access period. I plan to add automation, so that building your rocket becomes a production challenge rather than a manual one, along with a deeper survival layer where light matters and caves are home to creatures that never come to the surface. I plan to rework combat as well, with more weapons, better feedback when you hit something, and smarter creature behaviour. I also plan to add more biomes, blocks, plants, creatures and machines, and to expand the crafting tree with new materials and stations. Beyond content, I plan to work on performance and accessibility.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is playable and includes all of the main systems: procedural world generation, mining, crafting, building, wildlife, and the rocket you assemble to leave the planet.

Every seed generates a different planet. There are 68 block types across 19 biomes, around 50 crafting recipes, 24 tools and 9 procedurally generated creature types, along with water and a day and night cycle.

The game is single player only and available on Windows. Some updates may break existing save files, and I will note this in the patch notes. This is an early build, so there may still be bugs. Reporting them is the fastest way they get fixed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I might increase the price during the Early Access period as additional content and features are added, and again when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to be active on Discord and the Steam forums, and I want to hear all suggestions, bug reports and player feedback. I also plan to share what I'm working on before I build it, so players can weigh in early, and to write patch notes for every update. Because every world is generated from a seed, players can also share seeds with me directly, which lets me load exactly the planet they saw.”

About This Game

You land on a planet nobody has been to before. Everything you need is in the ground under you.
Dig it up, build what you need from it, and put together a rocket to get home.

Victor Space Program is a first-person voxel survival crafting game. Every planet is made fresh
from a seed, so the land, the plants, the creatures, the sky and the music are different every
time you start.

Dig and build

The world is made of blocks and all of them can be mined or placed. Carve out a base, build a
shelter, or reshape the surface however you want.

Craft your way up

Start with your hands and a wooden pickaxe. Work up to better tools and crafting stations that
turn raw ore into the parts you need.

Watch out at night

Every planet grows its own creatures. Some run from you. Some hunt in packs, and a few only come
out after dark.

Build the rocket

The materials are spread across the planet, so building it means going further out and deeper
down.
