Leaving Early Access: 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Worldwatch expands and Early Access provides us with room to mold it alongside the players.
The game is there, frantic battles, absurd heroes, but we must refine it through real feedback.
We’ll use Early Access to balance the combat, test new heroes, and make sure the game stays funny, weird, and fun to play for a long time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Likely 6 to 12 months.
We need sufficient time to complete all four main stages, and perhaps a few more stages.
The plan is to add additional heroes, weapons, and content and to polish everything as best as we can.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will build on the Early Access foundation by adding a significant amount of new content and expanding the overall experience.
The game is planned to have at least 4 complete stages. Each one will be released as a major update during Early Access, bringing new environments, enemies, and bosses to keep things fresh over time.
Every stage update will also come with a batch of new content, including 5 new heroes, 5 new sidekicks, plus additional weapons and items. This will greatly increase build variety and replayability in the final version.
Beyond the main bullet heaven gameplay, the full release will also include additional game modes that offer different ways to play and expand the experience.
The goal is for the full version to feel much bigger, with more variety, more content, and a more polished overall experience shaped by player feedback throughout Early Access.

To leave Early Access and be considered a full release, the game will include at least 4 stages (the Alien Attack stage plus 3 additional stages), a roster of 28 heroes—with 5 new heroes added in each update—at least 2 sidekicks, and 3 additional game modes beyond the main experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of the game already includes a fully playable core experience. Players can access one complete stage, featuring 4 bosses, 5 elite enemies, and 24 common enemy types.
At launch, the game includes 13 playable heroes, 10 sidekicks, and 24 passive weapons. All heroes and sidekicks are fully functional and ready to play, with the core gameplay loop fully implemented.
The game also features a progression system where players can unlock new heroes, sidekicks, and weapons through gameplay.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price will stay the same.
We want everyone who supports the game early to pay the same as those who join later.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community to take part in shaping Worldwatch.
Players will be able to share feedback, suggest new features, and even create hero concepts that could end up in the game.
We’re open to ideas for new phases, abilities, and funny gimmicks, anything that fits the chaotic, over-the-top world of Worldwatch.
The goal is to build a game that feels alive and full of personality, shaped by the people who play it.”

About This Game

Worldwatch is a chaotic bullet heaven where you fight against threats… that were never actual threats.
The most incompetent hero organization on Earth gets everything wrong. The world is in danger… or at least that’s what Worldwatch believes.

Dive into absurd battles against hordes of innocent enemies, unlock increasingly insane weapons, and survive the chaos that only Worldwatch’s incompetence could unleash.

From alien diplomats mistaken for “invaders,” to a misdiagnosed zombie outbreak, all the way to time-travel experiments on the Moon gone horribly wrong… each stage in Worldwatch is a bigger disaster than the last. And when the final apocalypse arrives, the only certainty is that the “solution” will be even worse than the problem.

🌀 Key Features:

  • Hordes of innocent enemies: from intergalactic diplomats to lunar tourists.

  • Varied bosses, each tailored to its stage.

  • Satirical humor, poking fun at paranoia and the chaos caused by those meant to save the world.

Can you survive… or will you just make the end of the world come faster?

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

During development, we sometimes rely on AI-based tools — but only as a small helping hand when absolutely necessary. Our team is made up of just two people: one who takes care of everything visual — from sprites, special effects, and character portraits to the music, sounds, and trailer — and the other who handles programming, layout, gameplay, design, and all the functional parts that make the game run.
Every piece of art in the game was drawn completely by hand, with no AI involvement at all. A few specific sound effects were created using AI as part of the process, but every bit of audio — whether AI-assisted or not — was carefully edited, mixed, and polished by hand to fit the mood and personality of the game.
