Torch of Shadows is a roguelite where balance is not optional; it is survival. You are the last guardian of an ancient universe that imprisons other guardians within itself. If the altar collapses, Light and Darkness will annihilate each other, leaving only the Void. To prevent that fate, you must reclaim the shattered regions, cleanse corrupted souls, and rebuild the altar piece by piece.

Opposites Must Collide

Creatures of Light and Darkness invade in relentless waves.

Each enemy can only be truly defeated by its opposite form:

Use Light powers against Dark creatures.

Use Dark powers against Light creatures.

Attack incorrectly, and you waste precious seconds. Even you will heal the same form in hard mode.

React correctly, and you dominate the battlefield.

Combat is about recognition, decision speed, and counter-play. Not mindless damage.
