Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe the best version of Swarmdustry will be shaped hand-in-hand with the community. Early Access allows us to refine the game based on real player feedback, while we continue polishing the UI, improving combat, expanding modding support with APIs, balancing core mechanics, and adding quality-of-life features.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is not to rush, but to deliver a finished product that meets the high standards of the genre. We expect Swarmdustry to remain in Early Access for 1–2 years, during which we’ll focus on polish, balance, and new features before reaching full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release will stay true to the core experience already present, but with additional depth and refinement. Planned improvements include:

More polished visuals and balanced mechanics
Expanded mega-base building systems
Vehicles, liquids
Controller and Steam Deck support
Achievements and additional languages”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already features most of the core gameplay systems we envision for the base game (other than vehicle and liquid mechanics). It is stable, thoroughly playtested, and largely free of bugs, though some quality of life features are still being added.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don’t plan to change the price during Early Access. However, as Swarmdustry grows with new content, features, and polish, the final release may be priced higher to reflect the completed version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community to be a driving force in Swarmdustry’s growth. Players can share feedback through Steam discussions, community forums, and surveys, and we’ll actively adjust balance, prioritize features, and refine mechanics based on player input. Our goal is to ensure the hive evolves in the direction players want it to.”

About This Game

Swarmdustry is a factory building strategy game where you command the relentless evolution of the Swarm. Unlike machines of steel and wire, your production network is alive, fleshy and ever adapting. Hatch workers, harvest resources, carry energy, automate production, and weave sprawling colonies of organic industry that pulse with growth.

Every structure, unit, and pathway you build is part of a living ecosystem. As your hive expands, you’ll unlock new genetic codes to accelerate growth, mutate workers into specialized types, and develop true automation.

But you’re not alone on this world. Enemy factions wielding cold machines and radiant energy will challenge your expansion, striking at your hive. To survive, you must balance efficiency and ferocity while designing both production lines and defensive strategies that embody the hunger of the Swarm.

Will your hive wither under pressure, or spread across the planet like a living tide?

Mechanics and Features

  • Seed-based procedurally generated infinite map. You may enable or disable enemies, trees or even water. You may adjust enemy difficulty and scaling, the safe starting area, amount of trees and water, as well as the richness and frequency of resources.

  • Build and grow your swarm. Mining and crafting manually can only get you so far. Build massive networks of trails and transit pads to deliver resources to your processors which come in different flavors.

  • Manage your workers. Your industry will only work as long as it is manned by different swarm workers, such as Movers, Miners, Fireflies, Acflies, Jumpers, and Drones. Each type of unit has its own single purpose to keep the swarm going.

  • Distribute energy across the hive. Some swarm buildings require energy to function, while others require fuel such as coal and wood. Make sure fireflies deliver this energy to your buildings using the spire network that you will be designing carefully as they follow the path of least resistance.

  • Unlock the full potential of the swarm. In order to evolve your swarm, you will have to unlock genetic codes at the Genetic Chamber. This will unlock much of industrial capacity of the hive.

  • Automate building. Building a mega swarm base is possible thanks to Drones that will place buildings for you. You only have to copy and paste, and they will do the rest.

  • Defend or attack. As your hive grows, so will the creep generated from your buildings will spread further and further. A robotic civilization living on the planet will form waves to attack your base. You must take care of them, or they will take care of you. Bloodflies and Feastlings may be used to overwhelm your foes. Remember, quantity over quality is the way of the swarm.

  • Multi-threaded core gameplay loop. That's right. For fans of technical implementations, this game is designed to work not only on lower end machines, but also scale up the more cores your CPU has.
