What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“1666: Amsterdam is a labour of love for our committed and talented developers. Combining this care and attention with player feedback, we believe that together we can make 1666: Amsterdam the best experience possible, shaping the game into a truly memorable whole. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It is difficult to accurately predict precisely how long Early Access will last.

We expect the process to see 1666: Amsterdam through to completion to take approximately 1 year, with multiple major updates adding new content to the game at regular intervals. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“When 1666: Amsterdam is complete, there will be a huge, lovingly crafted world for players to explore, spanning multiple boroughs. Each major content update throughout Early Access is intended to expand this world, adding hours more of the story and more of The Originals for Noa to collect.

We also plan to improve the game experience throughout this process, through bug fixes and optimization.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the beginning of Early Access, the game will include the first piece of the campaign, expected to take approximately 15 hours to playthrough.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Our core community is important to us, this is why we intend to offer pricing that offers the best value to players who are involved from the earliest point, with a gradual increase in the EA price the closer the game gets to completion. Offering this value to our most die-hard community members is of the upmost importance to us.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Playing in Early Access means getting to play the 1666: Amsterdam in a series of gradual, unfolding chapters over the course of a year as the game moves towards completion.

There will be issues along the way, but we invite you to join us in developing a game that we are excited to make and you are excited to play. As we move through the development of the game we will share our progress, challenges and thoughts with you. We also want to hear from you, regarding any issues you encounter or feedback you wish to offer. We believe this relationship will allow us to deliver the best version of 1666: Amsterdam possible.

Being an Early Access player requires a certain degree of understanding and compassion for the game development process and excitement for the future of the game. This is a journey we can’t wait to take with all of you.

If you would like to contact us throughout this adventure, please join our official Discord channel. ”

About This Game

Amsterdam, 1666.  A city built on wealth, power, and sheer will, but now fueled by a sinister force it did not forge…

Entities known as The Originals have lived for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed.

Noa Brooklyn was born The Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose: taking that power back.

A city with two faces

Explore a handcrafted Amsterdam by day. At night, uncover what lies beneath its surface. Every facade carries a gablestone. Not all of them tell the truth.

Every name. Every debt

The Originals walk among Amsterdam’s citizens, hidden behind human faces. Identify them. Mark them. When the Esbat comes, confront them in their true form under the moon. Collect what is owed.

Your path, your methods

Noa commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations of Zaindaris. Each target can be approached in multiple ways. Strategy, timing, and choice define the outcome. Every Esbat is a reckoning.

Two characters, two perspectives

Noa is not alone. Aaron, summoned from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat. Together, they are one: Switch between Noa and Aaron across two radically different playstyles. One wields witchcraft. The other has four paws and flair.

A free Prologue is available now

Experience the opening chapter of 1666: Amsterdam. Partake in Noa’s Commencement. See the cycle span centuries. Choose the companion who will walk beside her.
