Leaving Early Access: 2028

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Kip is actively being developed with regular updates, new levels, adjustments to the difficulty, bugfixes and other ongoing refinements. Early Access lets players shape the game while it's growing - and it means you get access to everything that's being built!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current target is a full release around 2028-2029, though it depends on how much content still needs some work (still quite a bit). However the development and updates are frequent and ongoing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full (released) version will have a complete and polished story mode with most of the levels finished. However once the full version is completed, there will still be updates for additional levels with new ways to explore gimmicks and to challenge your inner kip!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“- (Kip 2) Story mode with 670 levels, across normal and hard variants, spanning over 12 worlds
- Legacy content with 390 levels
- Kip 1
- Unlimited Wordle

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Kip is free and will always be free - during and after Early Access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback directly shapes the game. The difficulty of certain levels, new gimmick ideas, quality of life changes etc all from player input. If something feels off, tell me!”

About This Game

Kip is yummy. Kip is hard. Kip breaks you.

Inspired by the most punishing games ever made - Kaizo Super Mario World hacks, I Wanna Be The Guy, Super Meat Boy - Kip is a precision platformer built only the toughest players. No hand-holding. No difficulty sliders. Just Kip, a chicken with nowhere to go but go forward.

Over 670 levels of story mode content which is in the making, split into normal and hard variants. And if you're stuck at any time, there's a full library of legacy levels waiting for you. And if you're feeling nostalgic, you can even play the first game; Kip 1!

Built for the determined

Whether you're a veteran of the hardest platformers that exist or just a newcomer who wants to prove something. Kip meets you wherever you are. And then almost immediately makes things much, much worse. Harder variants of each level are playable, reserved for only the most masochistic players.

Tight, unforgiving controls

Kip demands a ton of precision. Every jump is a big commitment, every pixel matters and every death is a lesson. The learning curve is steep, but the moment when a level finally clicks? Worth every attempt.

Let's Kip it!
