What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access is essential for us to perfect the core experience of LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia. Because our gameplay heavily relies on innovative light-based mechanics and physics-driven puzzles, extensive playtesting and community feedback are crucial. As a small, four-person independent studio, we want to involve players directly in our development process to help us balance the difficulty curve, refine puzzle designs, and optimize the game's unique aesthetic. We are fully committed to regular updates, actively listening to our community on Steam and Discord, and iterating on their feedback to ensure the final 1.0 release fully realizes our vision.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently anticipate LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia to remain in Early Access for approximately 3 to 6 months. This timeline may adjust based on the scope of features and the valuable feedback we receive from our community throughout the development process. Our priority is to ensure the game reaches the level of polish and quality that our players expect, and we are committed to iterating on the core mechanics and content until we are confident in the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia is intended to be a more refined and content-rich experience compared to the Early Access version. While the core gameplay loop and foundational mechanics will be present at launch, we plan to expand the game significantly based on our development roadmap and player feedback.

Our plans for the full version include:

Expanded Content: We aim to introduce additional chapters and levels to further develop the narrative and world.

Enhanced Mechanics: We intend to refine existing mechanics and introduce new gameplay elements to deepen the player's interaction with the physics-based environment.

Polished Experience: We plan to perform extensive visual overhauls, focusing on lighting, atmospheric details, and overall level design to heighten immersion.

Pricing: Please note that we may increase the price of the game upon its full release to reflect the expanded scope and additional content.

We view Early Access as a collaborative journey, and the final version will be shaped by the time and attention we invest in balancing, performance optimizations, and content updates throughout this period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia is not just a concept. It's a fully playable, stable, and deeply atmospheric puzzle experience that perfectly represents the core vision of our game. As a small team, we have poured our hearts into making sure that the moment you step into this world, the fundamental loop of manipulating light and physics feels satisfying and polished.

Right now, the current build features everything you need to experience what makes our game unique:
* Core Gameplay & Technologies: All of our primary puzzle mechanics are fully implemented and stable. You will have complete access to QUARK CORP’s cuttingedge inventions. "F-0 FLUX"light and levitation system, the size and weight altering "S-8 GRAVITON," and the light absorbing "L-3 PHOTON." These systems are not placeholders; they are active, dynamic, and central to every puzzle you will solve.
* Content & Progression: We have designed several fully functional chapters and puzzle chambers inside the forgotten facility. This provides players with a solid few hours of deep, mind-boggling gameplay and environmental storytelling right from day one.
* Technical Polish: The foundational technical layers, including cinematic cutscenes, atmospheric audio, and our robust async save/load systems are completely up and running to ensure a smooth playthrough.

Everything we have proudly detailed in the "About This Game" section below, from the physics mechanics to the complex light interactions, is already built into this version and ready for you to test. Of course, because this is an Early Access journey, it remains a work-in-progress. We are actively looking to fix minor bugs, fine-tune the difficulty curve, and polish our atmospheric lighting based on your direct feedback. We want to build the absolute best version of this project alongside our community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price of LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia upon its full release. This adjustment reflects the additional content, expanded features, and overall polish that will be implemented throughout the Early Access period. We intend for this increase to be moderate, ensuring that the game remains accessible while properly acknowledging the growth and value added to the project by the time it reaches its full version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia is best shaped by those who play it. Throughout our development journey so far, we have meticulously reviewed every piece of feedback we’ve received, and our game’s design has evolved significantly because of it. If you look at our community discussions, you’ll see that our players' voices are already baked into the game's mechanics.

To be honest, we haven't had a massive influx of comments yet, which has actually made it a pleasure to give every single suggestion our full, undivided attention! As we move into Early Access, we plan to keep this 'hands-on' approach. We’ll be keeping a close eye on our Steam Discussion forums, Discord, and reviews to ensure that every player feels heard. Whether it’s bug reports, feature requests, or just general thoughts on the direction of the game, we are here, we are listening, and we are ready to build the best version of this project together with you.”

About This Game

LIGHTPUNK: Law of Inertia is a physics-based first-person puzzle game where you manipulate objects using the power of light.

Command objects using the power of "Light" and explore the forgotten chambers of an old facility. Harness the Law of Inertia—the first law of motion—and manipulate objects with the help of your flashlight. We aim to bring a fresh perspective to the puzzle genre, a mixture of both lively and realistic mechanics.

As you progress, uncover secrets and prepare yourself for mind-boggling puzzles. Prepare yourself for an atmospheric steampunk experience. May the light guide you...

📰 CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGIES FROM QUARK CORP!!!

  • S-8 GRAVITON is a groundbreaking invention from QUARK CORP. It enlarges when exposed to light and shrinks back to its original size when the lights turn off. SIZE SOMETIMES MATTERS!

  • While our beloved S-8 GRAVITON changes its size, its weight also changes accordingly. But keep in mind — EXCESS OF ANYTHING IS BAD.

  • The S-8 GRAVITON is now levitating — thanks to our cutting-edge technology, the "F-0 FLUX" NOT YOUR USUAL FLASHLIGHT.

  • But sometimes, it becomes just an ordinary flashlight, helping you open gates. Here at QUARK CORP, everything is high-tech — SO YOU WON'T NEED TO SEARCH FOR THE KEYS.

  • L-3 PHOTON is just an ordinary sidekick of S-8 GRAVITON . It absorbs light and emits it. WHAT A COPYCAT!
