About This Game

EmBARK on an all-new adventure! In this Metroidvania-style game, you play as Patch, a one-eyed Shiba Inu dog who recently lost his family. He finds himself in the Hallowed Lands, a whimsical yet spooky world filled with all manner of frights! Luckily, he meets a new friend: Pumpkin! The two of them begin a journey to the Underworld in search of answers.

Combat

Face off against classic Halloween monsters such as mummies, witches, vampires, and the dreaded Spider Queen! The combat in Pumpkin & Patch is primarily ranged projectile based, harkening back to the classics of the genre, but with some modern twists such as parrying. The limited parry mechanic will deflect projectiles back at enemies or stun melee attackers and heal the player, giving a high risk high reward option to increase the excitement of combat. If you prefer to just run and gun, this is also viable, but you better watch out carefully for obstacles!

Upgrades

Patch was once limited by his lack of sight, so it's a good thing that he met Pumpkin! Discover hidden secrets using Pumpkin's Lamplight ability, illuminating what isn't visible to the naked eye. Things aren't always as they appear in the Hallowed Lands. Find many new abilities within the world to enhance your combat prowess and increase your mobility. For instance, Patch can learn to freeze the water and create icebergs that he can control. By proper usage of Pumpkin's Embershot ability, Patch can jump higher than any dog!

Progression

Make choices that suit you! Once you've gotten the basics down, options open up to tackle obstacles as you see fit and arrive at different possible endings! Pumpkin & Patch are searching for different things, and it may not be easy to help them both. There are other characters in the world who will ask things of you as well, like the intrepid Captain Peg. Get to know the whole cast of characters!
