What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We built the game using Unity Engine and found it unstable during development so we decided to switch to Flax Engine for better performance.

In additional, we’re launching Evil Twin in Early Access to gather feedback, build a community, and secure additional funding to support the full development of the game.

Early Access will help us validate core gameplay ideas, refine the story, and ensure that the final version meets the expectations of our players. Your support during this phase is crucial to making Evil Twin the best it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep Evil Twin in Early Access until Christmas 2026.
This period will allow us to gather feedback, refine the gameplay, and fully transition to Flax Engine for the final release.
Our goal is to deliver a polished, content-rich experience that reflects the community’s input and our long-term vision for the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Evil Twin is planned to be a significant expansion of the Early Access version (from 2 hours of gameplay to over 10 hours of gameplay).

We want to deliver a more complete experience with improved visuals, deeper narrative content, and expanded gameplay systems.

The Early Access version focuses on introducing core mechanics and atmosphere. For the full release, we are planning to move to the Flax Engine, which will allow us to improve performance, visual fidelity, and overall immersion.

Additional content may include new areas to explore, a map that is 5 times larger, more story branches, refined puzzles, and improved controller support.

Community feedback during Early Access will play a major role in shaping the final experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Chapter 1 & 2 only / 6 chapters total, early access can be played in 2 hours.
The current Early Access version includes most of the core gameplay elements. Players can experience a portion of the main content, featuring exploration, puzzle-solving, and environmental interaction in a psychological horror style similar to Visage.

The game currently includes basic controls, ambient sound design, lighting effects, and several story-driven segments. However, additional content such as future chapters, performance optimization, and full controller support are still in development.

All currently available features are described in the “About This Game” section above.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price remains the same with Early Access build.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively involve the community throughout the development process by gathering feedback, suggestions, and bug reports via our official Steam forum, YouTube comments, and community discussion groups on our official Facebook page.

Players will be able to share their thoughts on gameplay, vote on upcoming features, and help shape the direction of the game based on their experiences. We will also post regular developer updates and behind-the-scenes content on YouTube to keep players informed and engaged.

All major updates and community-driven decisions will be shared on our homepage and social media channels. We believe that building a strong connection with our players is key to creating the best possible experience.”

About This Game

Evil Twin is a first-person psychological horror game that plunges players into a surreal purgatory shaped by guilt, science, and madness. You’ll explore a haunting world filled with cryptic puzzles, eerie environments, and symbolic storytelling — all from the perspective of a brilliant scientist trapped in her own mind.

🔬 A Tragic Experiment Gone Wrong

Lan Anh, a gifted researcher at Py King Corporation, made a devastating mistake by testing experimental cell programming on human subjects. Her actions led to the suffering of millions. After attempting suicide, she awakens in a twisted, nightmarish maze — a purgatory of her own making — where she must confront her guilt and symbolically repair the damage she caused.

🏢 The Rise of Py King Corporation

Py King is a powerful weapons technology conglomerate that secretly funded Lan Anh’s research. After her disappearance, the corporation repurposed her discoveries to develop highly destructive biological weapons. Their experiments spiraled out of control, turning the once-thriving city of Caro on Caranaires Island into a wasteland overrun by the undead.

This dark chapter of the story will be fully explored in the upcoming sequel, Evil Twin 2, where players will uncover the truth behind Py King’s ambitions and the consequences of unchecked scientific power.

🧩 Psychological Horror Meets Puzzle Solving

Explore disturbing environments, uncover hidden clues, and solve environmental puzzles to progress. The game emphasizes atmosphere, tension, and psychological depth. In the full release, players will also be able to craft weapons from collected items to survive increasingly hostile encounters.

🖼️ AI-Generated Haunted Art

To enhance the surreal and unsettling atmosphere, many of the paintings and wall hints scattered throughout the game are generated using AI. These artworks serve both as visual storytelling and cryptic clues, adding a layer of mystery and unease to every room.

📖 In-Game Guidance

A fully integrated in-game menu provides players with detailed tutorials and guidance throughout the experience. Whether you're solving puzzles or navigating the environment, helpful prompts and instructions will ensure you never feel lost.

🎮 Key Features

  • Immersive First-Person Perspective: Experience the horror through Lan Anh’s eyes in a deeply personal and atmospheric journey.

  • Puzzle-Based Progression: Solve environmental and logic-based puzzles to unlock new areas and memories.

  • Symbolic Storytelling: Every room, object, and sound tells a piece of the story — if you’re willing to look deeper.

  • Crafting System (Full Release): Collect and combine items to create tools or weapons to aid your survival.

  • AI-Generated Clues: Mysterious paintings and wall hints created by AI enhance the game’s eerie tone.

  • In-Game Tutorial System: A built-in guide helps players understand mechanics and objectives.

  • Progress System: The game is automatically saving after one chapter completed with banner popup showing.

  • Estimated Playtime: ~2 hours in Early Access, ~10 hours in the full release.

  • Inspired by Visage: Fans of Visage will find familiar tension and psychological horror elements.
