In First-Person Data Explorer, datasets become immersive 3D environments where numbers shape color, size, movement, and more. Load, generate, or edit your data during gameplay, and turn raw values into something you can see, experience - and explore.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This project is intended to grow significantly with community feedback. Early Access is a way to ensure that development is guided by player preferences and use. I'm also hoping it helps identify the types of people and communities that find enjoyment and value in this project.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect the game to remain in Early Access for one to two years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to include more "Explorers" (3D graph types), additional tools, and environmental controls - allowing players to present data in ambientes that suit their context or mood.

In the long term, I hope to explore the possibility of open-sourcing parts of the project - especially the tools that could help others build and share their own explorers. While not guaranteed, this is a direction I'm excited about and would love to pursue with community interest and support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully functional and includes the game's core mechanics with three playable "Explorers":

- Bar Explorer - A 3D Bar graph.
- K-Means Clustering Explorer - Displays interactive clustering of observations.
- Gradient Descent Explorer - Visualizes the step-by-step calculations of the gradient descent algorithm

Each explorer comes with example data sets and scripts which can be either used or replaced with your own.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is free during Early Access.
Depending on how the project grows and the needs of the community, a price may be introduced at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be posting development updates regularly and sharing progress monthly. There will be updates as the game progresses, with new features arriving before full release. Feedback is always welcome, and I'm hoping to grow this project with fellow players, explorers, and creators.”

About This Game

First-Person Data Explorer is a sandbox-style environment where datasets come to life - translated into physical features like color, size, motion and more. The goal is to let you experience your data in fun and creative ways.

Players can choose from different graphing types (called "Explorers"), each of which visualizes the data dynamically in real time. Data is loaded from Jsonl and CSV files, which players can create, modify, or select during gameplay. Each Explorer has a few simple guidelines for the data it reads, and players are encouraged to write scripts or choose datasets that fit those formats - with examples provided to help you get started.

The game is packaged with python and includes Pandas and NumPy, but you can also load scripts and datasets from any directory of your choice.
