What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“At this stage, we believe Anomaly Protocol offers an immersive and terrifying experience. However, many ideas and potential still remain hidden within the game, waiting to be explored. Your feedback is especially important to us in areas such as gameplay balance, difficulty level, and atmospheric intensity. Anomaly Protocol is currently "playable" and its core structure is in place, but a journey still lies ahead for us to reach its full potential—together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate that the Early Access period will last approximately 12–18 months, but this may vary depending on the feedback we receive from the community. Throughout this process, we plan to develop and expand the game together.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version of Anomaly Protocol, we aim to expand the laboratory with more diverse layers, enemy types, collectible items, and atmospheric details. Our goal is to create a replayable structure that offers a different experience each time you play. Additionally, we want to fix existing bugs, improve gameplay balance, and provide a satisfying level of challenge for both new and experienced players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version currently includes the core gameplay loop and several functional systems, with ongoing development on additional features and improvements.

Players can create a lobby, invite friends, and communicate via voice chat. The game begins when players board the elevator together.

Each game level is procedurally generated to offer a different experience every time. Players must complete a specific quota in each level to unlock the next stage.

Current enemy AI is subject to change as development progresses. We're actively experimenting with their behavior and considering the addition of new enemy types in future updates.

At this stage, we are primarily focused on collecting player feedback and analyzing gameplay data to refine the experience. We are also addressing known map bugs and working on various improvements to level design.

The in-game shop system is currently under development and is not available in this version. We aim to implement it in a way that satisfies players, based on their feedback.

While the game’s foundational mechanics are already in place, new content and features will continue to be added throughout development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, we plan to keep the game's price at an affordable level and gradually increase it as the game develops. In this way, we aim to reward our Early Access supporters.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to actively collect your opinions through our Steam discussion forums and Discord server. Which mechanics scare you the most, which enemies challenge you, or which rooms should create more tension? We want to hear it from you.
Surveys and Polls: We plan to occasionally conduct surveys on topics such as new features, enemy designs, or item types. For example, what kind of behavior would you like the next mutated creature to have? We might leave the choice up to you!
Bug Reports and Testing: By reporting issues you encounter while playing, you can guide us in terms of performance and balance.

About This Game

No one has yet been able to complete this Brutal 10-Day Cycle! Everything is in your hands. - Orilande

Anomaly Protocol is an online co-op survival and horror game for up to 4 players. Mission: Collect valuable relics from dark, ever-changing underground labyrinths, process these items in the surface grinder, and send them to our base in space via rocket.

During the day, you must descend into underground dungeons filled with deadly dangers. While searching for valuable items, you will face not only the darkness but also lurking threats within. Be tactical; watch your back using the mine systems you set up. But watch your step, because you or your teammates can step on the mines you planted just as easily as the monsters can!

- Operate the Base and Complete the Mission If you manage to survive the underground, quickly transport the collected loot to the grinder. Load the processed materials onto the rocket and send them to the base in space. You will earn rewards for every successfully completed shipment. Your rewards will be delivered to you via a special vehicle.

- Go on the Defense When Night Falls Pay attention to the time you spend underground; a warning siren will sound when night falls. When the sirens start wailing, the outside becomes swarming with creatures. Immediately take shelter in your base, connect to the computer terminal inside, and take control of the base's heavy weapon systems. Fight to survive the night and protect the base.

- Upgrade Your Character Strategically use the money you earn for every item sent to the space base:

  • Skills: Access the "Character" tab from the computer in your base to unlock new skills that will prepare you for the increasingly difficult days ahead.

  • Cosmetics and Customization: Don't compromise on your style while braving the hardships. Use your earnings to buy brand-new costumes and various distinct headgear for your character.

For rookie teams embarking on the adventure, the radiation level is kept stable during the first few days. However, do not get complacent; after day 3, the rules of the game get tougher and you will face the real nightmare. For every new day you and your team manage to survive, you will earn a Steam Achievement and prove your endurance.

Gather your team, descend underground, fire the rocket, and protect that base at all costs!
