Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Interacting with intelligent, conversation-capable characters with personality and emotion, able to manipulate any object in the environment and interact with each other - is novel and requires feedback. We hope our technology will enable new game, VR and metaverse experiences. We're looking forward to enhancing the immersive experience of Bot Colony _redux based on player feedback.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect we'll require 12 months from the start of Early Access to address feedback from the community.
To open our game to more players, we plan to localize Bot Colony _redux to major language groups: Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Thai, Hindi.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • We plan to ship Perla, a tool scaling up our language-driven animation technology from Intruder, to enable creative people to build cutscenes or their own games featuring intelligent characters - all without programming, using only English and point-and-click.
  • Depending on how the Humanity Test is received, we'll contemplate offering a Humanity Test Maker tool for user-generated content (user-designed Humanity Tests).
  • Content-wise, we’re looking forward to telling the whole story in the Bot Colony novel, adapted to modern times. We will only consider such a major project if it has the clear backing of the player community.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Take a look at the About This Game section below for all the details regarding our playable content!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“TBA”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Implement a comment and problem reporting mechanism in the game's UI, establish a Discord channel, and utilize community feedback to enhance the game.”

About This Game

TALK TO ROBOTS TO UNRAVEL A MYSTERY OF INDUSTRIAL ESPIONAGE

A Sci-Fi Story You Play by Talking

Bot Colony _redux is a story-driven sci-fi adventure where conversation isn’t just flavour - it is the gameplay. You speak naturally to characters, and they understand you. They’ll answer your questions, follow your commands, or surprise you with their own thoughts. They’re not lifeless quest-givers - they have distinct personalities, moods, and agendas. If you’ve ever felt boxed in by dialogue trees, this is your chance to break free. Explore, investigate, and solve problems your way… just by talking.

THE JOB

You’ve just been hired by Nakagawa Corp, a huge Japanese robotics company, for an unusual gig: track down a spy who infiltrated their R&D facility on Agrihan Island. Every episode in Bot Colony _redux is a chapter in a bigger mystery, and each one has its own unique setting, characters, and gameplay to master.

THREE EPISODES. THREE VERY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES

  • EPISODE I: INTRUDER

There's trouble brewing in this high tech paradise: Top secret prototypes have gone missing and Nakagawa’s competitors would love to get their hands on them. Before you get hired to begin the search on Agrihan, the security chief puts you through a series of tests: can you control a robot with your words and uncover clues to reveal its memories? Practice your robot cognition prowess to dig up answers before the trail goes cold!

  • EPISODE II: ARRIVAL

You land on Agrihan, but something’s off. The coastal airport is run entirely by robots, and they’ve been patched with Update 237 - which reprograms them to "Do As People Do”. As the bots become distracted by their new goal to emulate human behaviour, a crisis unfolds before you can even unpack! Your personal assistant Miki-05 will be on hand to help you navigate the twists and turns at the airport as you encounter anti-robot terrorism firsthand.

  • EPISODE III: RIOT

Fly a Hunter Bot to an oil rig where chaos has erupted. The robot workers staged a mutiny and exiled the rig’s human staff! The bots adopt political views and split into opposing factions: communists, capitalists, and eco-defenders. To survive, you must appeal to their ideology. Later you’ll face the “Humanity Test” - a twist on Blade Runner’s Voigt-Kampff test. Here, the robots are holding you captive. Prove you’re human to make it out alive!

AN EXOTIC FUTURE WORLD AWAITS

We built Agrihan Island in Unreal Engine 5.5 for rich visuals, atmosphere, and detail you can get lost in, infused with an original soundtrack that adds to the island’s tense, futuristic vibe. During your adventure across Agrihan you'll meet dozens of unique robots, each one designed for a specific role, from domestic bots to hunters - with gestures, expressions, and voices that illustrate their new goal: to emulate people!

START PLAYING FOR FREE. YOUR WORDS SHAPE THE STORY

Bot Colony _redux is free to download and get started. Want to keep exploring beyond that? We’ve included a convenient usage-based currency system. Every playthrough is different because you choose what to say. Conversations branch not from pre-written choices, but from the actual words you use. Maybe your investigation and dialogue strategy lets you uncover secrets that other players don’t!

We’ve integrated cutting-edge AI and voice tech (Azure, GPT‑5, Elevenlabs’ emotive speech) to make sure the interactions feel natural and responsive, and it all runs through North Side's state-of-the-art natural language (NLU) server - customized for gaming.

FIFTEEN YEARS IN THE MAKING

Bot Colony (2014) was ahead of its time; the tech just wasn’t ready for the vision we had. We never stopped chasing it. Now, in 2025, Bot Colony _redux finally delivers what we dreamed of: a future sci-fi narrative you can play using unrestricted speech, talking to nuanced characters who respond with intelligence, humour, and emotion. This game offers something for fans of many genres, and gives players the freedom to shape the story with their own words. This isn’t “press X to select an answer.” This is actual conversation with no limits on what you can say as you play.

Replay It. Rewrite It.

Your Voice Decides the Future.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

We use AI under the control of our own Natural Language Understanding software to generate robot lines in conversations. These robot lines are delivered using emotive speech.
