What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want guidance from players to help us focus on specific features that they like and any bug they find.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We would like to add 3 -6 more shipwreck models and fix any bugs that are found before we fully release the game. We estimate this will take approximately 4 months. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include more interactive features than are currently present in the game. Things like more underwater videos, more fish, lionfish hunting and scooter mechanics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the early access version of the game is a casual virtual tour of 7 real life shipwrecks and the actual community of dive services divers can utilize if they want to visit them in person. The game contains look and learn elements accessed via the players dive watch. When scanned, scan points found on fish and shipwrecks display narrated videos by a former Chief Scientist from NOAA (Dr. Steve Gittings). ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are looking for feedback and suggestions of the game on our Steam Community Group Page. We will also look for feedback on our website where players can fill out a survey and give us their feedback.”

About This Game

Created by marine science non-profit Lionfish Central, and narrated by the world-renowned marine scientist and researcher: Dr. Steve Gittings, Shipwreck Discovery immerses players in the world of real shipwrecks off the coast of Destin, Florida.
As a reef-tender, you are responsible for growing an artificial reef onto a freshly sunken ship. Cull Lionfish, collect trash, and grow corals to attract myriad varieties of marine life. Contribute to making the ocean a cleaner and more biodiverse place - virtually and in real life. A portion of every purchase goes to Lionfish Central which does the same critical work you will be doing in-game.

Your coral won't grow all at once, and you can't speed run your way to a cleaner ocean. Featuring a real-time tracking system, you'll have to keep the wreck clean over multiple visits to see what each reef can truly flourish into. Enjoy the immersive underwater soundscape and interact with massive schools of lifelike fish that dynamically respond to you and your surroundings.
