Why Early Access?

“Early on during prototyping, we decided to go the Early access route because we believe we had a solid understanding of what we want to accomplish with our game. We have the Core gameplay loop blueprinted and, even now are near completion of the loop. Once the game releases in Early Access, the loop will be complete and have enough depth to provide players a solid foundation to play on, while providing feedback and wishlist items to us to help the game evolve into something the community wishes to play long term. Early Access will also allow us to work on the game full time, foregoing our current day jobs to pursue our passion for gaming and give you the best experience possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Ideally, no longer than a year. Though it really depends on the type of community feedback received and if the scope grows bigger than our current road-map.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We intend the full version to have a large, intricate map, a few scenarios, game modes, and alien variants. We have a long road map planned out with DLC/Expansion packs that will include entirely new stations, Alien/Monsters to deal with, along with unique activities, game modes, and collectables to accompany them.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game includes the first map, with 10 minigames/activities and one Alien for the players to encounter, along with dozens of items for players to salvage for in-game currency. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There is a possibility based on how much bigger the game grows, but ideally, no.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan on reading most, if not all, community posts and messages in channels where we'd like player feedback. We will have various avenues to collect said feedback, from Steam Community posts, Discord, and social media posts, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.”

About This Game

Crew: Expendable is an up to 7-player co-op game with social deduction/betrayal and extraction elements. You are a member of a space engineering team independently contracted by the pharma-colonial conglomerate Oroboros, who must travel to the recently abandoned  Hesperides Station to discover what led to its breakdown and the disappearance of all staff.

 

A Silicon Alien Lifeform (S.A.L.) prowls the halls of Hesperides. This lethal entity will stalk and hunt down anyone it comes across, and is seemingly impervious to conventional attacks. As you and your team complete assignments and cash in salvage across the station, you must evade this creature's claws by hiding, finding tools to stave it off, and working together. Perhaps you can even find a way to kill it before it kills you.

 

The Silicon Alien Lifeform is not the only danger in the game. One member of your team is on a secret assignment from Oroboros to not only ensure the survival of the alien, but to make sure they are the only one left to return alive from Hesperides Station. The Corp Agent will covertly work to sabotage the team's efforts on the station while completing classified assignments of their own to improve their chances of survival.

 

Teamwork and vigilance are key to making it back home alive. Collaborate on assignments to change the station in useful ways and unlock new rooms and tools that will help keep the Silicon Alien Lifeform from killing you. Discover a means to stop it once and for all, but never forget the human beside you might be the one to throw you to the claws for a paycheck bonus.
