Volunteer Beta Testers

Hey everyone!

I’m currently looking for a small number of volunteer early build testers.
Feedback at this stage will directly influence the final release!

The game is a slow-burn psychological horror experience with a grounded approach to violence and gore, restrained in some moments, overwhelming in others.

It isn’t designed to be comfortable, and it may be too much for some players.

If that sounds like your kind of game, feel free to reach out on Instagram: quietstudiosgames

Thank you for being here!

About This Game

Something went wrong beneath the city.

A section of the Ravenbrook transit system was sealed after an incident that has never been fully explained. Official records describe a structural failure. No bodies were recovered. The station remains powered.

You are Eli Ward, drawn underground by the disappearance of someone he refused to forget. What waits below is not a conventional outbreak, and what moves through the dark does not behave like the dead.

People are still there.

They still breathe.

They just aren’t in control anymore.

SUBDERMAL is a slow-burn psychological survival horror experience where stealth, observation, and careful decision-making matter more than combat. Journey through abandoned transit corridors and forgotten rooms to uncover fragmented records, environmental clues, and unsettling truths buried deep beneath the city’s surface.

Expect intense encounters, physical horror rooted in biological parasitic infection, and systems that feel alive even when everything else seems dead.

Features

Psychological Survival Horror

A slow-burn experience focused on tension, uncertainty, and dread rather than constant action.

Living Infection System

Enemies are still alive — breathing, reacting, and fighting against something inside them.

Environmental Storytelling

Uncover the truth through abandoned spaces, fragmented records, and subtle visual clues rather than exposition.

Stealth-Focused Gameplay

Avoid, observe, and outmaneuver threats that respond to sound, movement, and light.

Dynamic Gore System

Visceral, reactive physical damage that escalates based on player actions and encounters.

Immersive Underground World

Explore sealed transit tunnels, forgotten maintenance corridors, and spaces left exactly as they were when evacuation happened.

Minimal UI, Maximum Atmosphere

A restrained interface designed to keep the player grounded in the world at all times.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

SUBDERMAL does not use generative AI during gameplay or while the game is running.

No images, audio, text, dialogue, or gameplay content is generated dynamically via AI during play. All assets—including visuals, audio, writing, voice acting, and gameplay systems—are fully authored, fixed, and shipped as part of the final build.

What AI Is Not Used For
• No real-time AI text generation
• No real-time AI image or video generation
• No real-time AI voice synthesis
• No adaptive AI narrative systems
• No AI-based player interaction or chat

What AI Was Used During Development

Placeholder assets or ideas were assisted during development (concept art drafts, placeholder imagery, writing refinement), but all final in-game content is original, human-authored, and fully static except a small minority of AI-generated textures that appear on certain objects.
This development-phase AI usage does not affect gameplay and does not generate new content for players.

The game also contains textures which were upscaled using AI, but were originally human-authored.

Guardrails

Because the game does not include any generative systems during runtime, no special guardrails are required. Players cannot trigger or create AI-generated output of any kind.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

My game SUBDERMAL may contain themes and imagery intended for mature audiences.

Content includes:
• Intense psychological horror, fear, and panic-inducing scenarios
• Depictions of violence, including attacks from infested humans
• Parasitic infection imagery, body horror elements, and unsettling transformations
• Heavy atmospheric dread, claustrophobic environments, and disturbing sound design
• References to missing persons and their potential death

There are no depictions of sexual content, sexual assault, or self-harm in the game.
There is no drug or alcohol use beyond standard environmental set-dressing (e.g., trash, bottles).
The narrative focuses on survival, loss, and environmental infection, and may be distressing to players sensitive to isolation, gore-adjacent visuals, or themes involving death.
