You are Haruto Saito, a member of the Japan Self-Defense Forces who has spent the past several years fighting in a distant land, serving his country's interests.

Of course, like any other dangerous undertaking, things were never going to end well. One day, Haruto loses every soldier under his command, and, in a cruel twist of fate, he alone survives.

Upon returning home, consumed by regret and blaming himself for what happened, he finds a society gripped by fear and struggling with the aftermath of war. Unable to find his place in the world, Haruto faces the threat of being sent to one of the newly established military residential facilities, which resemble psychiatric institutions more than anything else, with a one-way ticket in and no way out.

Just as all hope seems lost, fate brings him face to face with a mysterious stranger who offers him a position as a supervisor in a newly established experimental program known as "Quiet Classroom."

Will this offer become his chance at a new life, or merely the beginning of something far more terrifying?

Everyone has memories they wish to revisit time and time again. But there are also those best left buried in the past.

The events of this episode take place long before “Quiet Classroom,” back when Haruto Saito was just a lonely boy whom fate had never even given the chance to know what a real family was like.

Having grown up in an orphanage alongside his best friend Hikaru, Haruto finds himself stepping into an ordinary school for the very first time. And strangely enough, it is here that he begins to understand what it truly means to have a family. New faces, their first school adventures, and countless carefree days lie ahead of them, days that seem as though they might never end.

But childhood comes to an end sooner or later. And not every memory is destined to remain a happy one.
