About This Game

This is a fishing shopkeeper where you start off in a pile of rubble in this mysterious world, in the hopes of rebuilding and making a large successful shop and fish collection.  As you sell fish and build up your personal collection, a town begins growing around you and begins to evolve and level up!

The game is still in alpha development - I plan on posting updates on my steams news/update pages, Discord and Youtube!

I'm a single developer making this while working full time, so this comes out of pure enjoyment of simulator and tycoon games.  I also will emphasize that I'm going to be slow with progress at times because I need to manage my full time job and life as well.  I won't promise a perfect or super polished game - But I can promise I'm passionate and want to make a fun game for people to enjoy.  This is the first time I'm attempting at making my own full game so I appreciate the patience and support!

Rare & Giga Catches

  • In rare scenarios you'll get rare giga sized catches, as well as Holographic/Foils that are worth a lot of money (I'm a big fan of trading card games, so snuck in foils!); However they could also be really handy to make your store more attractive for customers, as display pieces.

Collecting

  • A part of the games mechanic is collecting and displaying some of your catches - Every unique fish on display improves your stores collection bonus.  I want to have TONS of unique fish to find and catch in the future!

  • One of the main gameplay themes of the game is to collect all the unique fish in the world!  I will continue to keep adding in more types of fish into the game

Grading

  • Later on in the game, a grader NPC opens up shop where you can then begin getting your fish graded!  This is heavily inspired by Trading Card Games where you get cards graded

  • This can enhance OR decrease the value of the fish... depending on its quality

  • Graded fish can be mounted on walls, and stacked on top of eachother on displays so you can amass a bigger collection in a smaller space

Tech Tree

Bait

  • Risk Vs Reward: Bait will cost a upfront amount, but gives you a chance at catching better fish!  Some bait will be for specific fish in regions, while other bait just overall increases your chances.

Explore

  • Explore the ruins of the 'Old World' and find new fishing spots!  I have a lot of ideas planned for future biomes in this strange post-apocalyptic world.  I want this world to feel fun to explore and discover!

Customers

  • You'll need to make your shop appealing to the world's wanderers so they move into the area and bring more wealth to afford those big hitters you catch

Town Building

  • As you repair and upgrade your shop, others will begin settling into the area as well and begin building, I hope this will make it visually rewarding and exciting to see the area change over time!  You will unlock possible NPC's to interact with in the future here.

Rebuilding & Upgrading

  • You'll need to make your shop appealing to the world's wanderers.  As you keep upgrading your store, you'll get more floor space and new props/technology to build your store with!

Weather

  • When rainy days happen, different fish become available that you can't find in clear weather!

Building

  • Place your decorations, furniture, and displays the way you want to!  I want to get a nice variety of content for you to make your store layouts interesting and unique.

Taxes - The Government

  • Even in the apocalypse you can't escape the tax man - The government will fly near your shop every few days to collect payment for helping you rebuild - They want their cut!

Decorating

  • I want to actually reward players for decorating, instead of it just being purely for looks!  I haven't figured out exactly what 'decor' bonus will give yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Dog

  • Keep your dog fed and happy!  I want to make the dog mechanic more interesting in the future (Including maybe choosing a different starter pet).  It will be a fun little companion on your journey across this odd world.

Achievements

  • I'd love to have a way for you to keep track of all the fish you've discovered, how many you've caught and the biggest weight you've caught!
