I. ORIENTATION

Welcome to the Essential Services Coordination (E.S.C.). A ███-normal phenomenon designated as The ████ is wreaking havoc on the population and destabilizing the globe. The Service is tasked with cataloging █████, identifying aggressive █████, and sealing the ██████. The Research & Analytics department asserts that public knowledge of The █████ increases the rate at which █████ materialize. Therefore, your presence at the site is strictly confidential. Follow the protocol below precisely to prevent public hysteria and keep The █████ in check.

II. THE PROTOCOL: ASYMMETRIC CO-OP

Missions require analytical coordination across two distinct roles due to the ██████ nature of the phenomenon:

• Field Agents: Deploy directly into the active █████ zone. Use agency-issued equipment to find and suppress traces of The Static, and observe how the ██████ reacts to understand its character. WARNING: Your observation can be dangerous or beneficial. Talk to your Operator; they have access to specialized equipment resistant to the ██████ ████████ or ███-███ collapse.

• The Operator: Stationed within the Armored Response Vehicle (ARV). Monitor team vitals, track general threat levels, view live security camera feeds, and manipulate local building systems to assist the team. Keep comms clear; cutting the lights or triggering environmental overrides can easily be confused with actual ███-normal activity. Specialized equipment resistant to ██████ superposition for all team members is stationed in the ARV.

E.S.C. Mission Protocol:

• Protocol 01 - Experiment & Observe: The █████ do not follow a manual; they actively ████ and █████ to your noise, light usage, and movement. Always. Conduct calculated, observation-based experiments to understand their hidden rules. (Refer to Ch. 12 on Entanglement by ████ Dept.)

• Protocol 02 - Intentional Triggers: Following the rules keeps you alive, but it will not close the Breach. There are many different types of █████. To discover the █████'s true identity and initiate Containment, your team must strategically trigger ███-normal events by breaking Its rules.

• Protocol 03 - Entering The █████: Elimination does not mean the end of your mission. ███████ agents are cast into the ███-normal dimension called The █████. You remain an active participant as long as you are conscious: interact with environmental ██████ to assist - or accidentally terrify - your surviving teammates.

III. POST-MISSION ANALYSIS: REST & RELAXATION

Between active missions, your team returns to E.S.C. Headquarters to manage meta-███████, analyze █████ data, and prepare for the next deployment:

• The Archives: File recovered data, analyze collected clues, and catalog paranormal anomalies for the E.S.C. Database. The ███████ Department is grateful for your contributions to its archive. WARNING: Redactions protect the privacy of victims and removing them is dangerous for agents with no clearance. The ██████ Department reports that trying to guess what is redacted causes elevated stress levels that may impact operational integrity.

• Detective’s Desk: The ████ Department states that your personal office space is crucial to the psychological integrity of response teams. Monitor operational resources, track progression milestones, and display hard-earned artifacts and case clues recovered from field missions. Be merry.

• Operational Simulation: Access a localized training ██████ within Headquarters to calibrate your field equipment and practice basic investigation principles.

• Grounded Neo-Noir Atmosphere: Investigate recently evacuated public spaces designed to subvert everyday environments into zones of intense psychological tension.

• The Other Side: Death is not a spectator sport. Downed players are cast into the paranormal dimension, leaving them free to manipulate anomalies to guide or haunt their living teammates.

• Deductive Data Extraction: Moving beyond binary evidence tools, survival is a cognitive puzzle. Test theories through deliberate behavioral violations, isolate the Entity’s traits, and seal the Breach before the sector is lost.
