What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cendovia Uprising is fully functional. All four modes are fully playable. All game mechanics exist, all 50 battlefields are implemented, all 10 factions are complete. We could launch the game as a complete game now. But we are going into Early Access because we want to enhance the game in the following ways with community input along the way.

- Story - We have pulled the cutscenes from campaign mode while we work to rewrite it to be up to the standard we wish to achieve. We aim to release these during Early Access one faction at a time to get feedback.

- Balance - With so many cards to play, factions and playstyles, we can only test so much through playtesting. We are looking to open this up to the community so they can tell us what they think of the balance. Not everyone will agree. There is a learning curve and people's skill levels at the game will vary, but we want to hear all the feedback and refine accordingly.

- Visual upgrades - In service of the stories we want to tell, we aim to continue to upgrade the visuals of the game with community feedback as a key component.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate the game will be in early access for 18 months. During this time we aim to make continual upgrades such as including cutscenes, enhancing character and environmental models, and stat and mechanical tweaks based on user feedback. That being said, every mechanics serves a purpose, and we have done extensive playtesting, so we will balance user feedback with our own judgement to find the right balance in line with our vision.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The aim is for the full version to be story rich with animated cutscenes in Campaign Mode. We aim to tell the stories of ten different factions via cutscenes spread throughout the campaign to allow the players to experience the journey of the leaders they are playing as.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Aside from story, it's basically a complete game. There full profiles for all 160 fighters and all 10 factions. But the cutscenes we envision creating are not in the game. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this time, we don't intend to change the price upon full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would like to engage with the community on forums and on our discord server and we will be posting updates regularly.

In addition to discussing story, visuals, and balance, we are always excited to discuss anything about the game, especially different strategies players take. We are eager to see where the meta lands. We've taken great care to have each faction have their own distinct combat style and want to see how players leverage those on a larger scale than just within our playtests. So, looking forward to hearing your input on this too.”

About This Game

Cendovia Uprising is a turn-based tactical combat game. Play cards to deploy your troops, then advance your army across the battlefield. You must destroy the enemy's leader before they destroy yours. Navigate changing terrain as you fight among ten factions to conquer Cendovia. Customize your deck for each engagement.

Conquer the Island and Each Other

Cendovia Uprising offers 4 play modes:

  • Training Mode (PvE): complete training sessions that guide you through the battle mechanics. Then compete in practice battles to get a taste of combat.

  • Campaign Mode (PvE): plot your course across Cendovia as you compete in a series of battles to conquer the island.

  • Scrimmage Mode (PvE): play stand-alone matches against NPCs of your choosing.

  • Online Mode (PvP): battle against others online in public or private matches or tournaments.

Hone your Strategy

Your cards have a wide variety of attributes that influence their abilities. Learn the powers of each card by reading their stats. Manage your resources to ensure you can fund your battles. And watch replays of any of your matches to study your tactics to improve your strategy. Or just relive your glorious victories.

Build the Ultimate Deck

Your deck consists of your leader, starters, and reserves. Every battle begins with only your leader on the battlefield and your starter cards in your hand. In subsequent turns, you draw cards from your reserves. Tailoring your decks to match the terrain and your opponent can aid in combat.

Expand Your Empire

There are over 50 unique battlefields spread across the island of Cendovia. While they are all grid based, they vary in size and terrain. A wide variety of terrain effects present both obstacles and opportunities.

In campaign mode, when you capture a territory you gain access to its facilities, which can help you fund and strengthen your army.

Reunite Your People

It's 2074. A decade has passed on the remote island of Cendovia since the robot uprising. With great struggle against that uprising, humanity eventually had gained the upper hand against the robotic Takan Guard. After surrounding the robots in the center of the island, the people became embroiled in territorial disputes amongst themselves. Despite most factions sharing Vergenessa as their common goddess, their distinct ideologies kept them apart.

A civil war known as The Fracturing ensued. When the dust settled, ten factions, including the Takan Guard, divided the island into ten regions. A tenuous peace descended allowing the inhabitants to rebuild. Slowly and quietly they prepared for a return to hostilities. Now, Cendovia finds itself on the brink of another civil war and your people must again fight for their survival.

What's in the game?

Cendovia Uprising comes with over 200 unique cards which is more than enough for any playstyle you choose. Play as any of the 10 factions. All players start with the same set of cards. There are no loot boxes and it's not pay to win.

While all these cards are available to you in scrimmage and online modes, in campaign mode you start with a small set of cards in your deck and gain more as you progress. Campaign mode is the only mode in which you can mix fighters from different factions into the same deck.
