What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“BUMP is a highly technical, physics-based arena shooter. Because the gameplay relies on momentum, specific movement tech (like the DBT combo), and 'emergent' physics interactions, we cannot balance it in a vacuum.

The core game is polished and the dedicated servers are live. We are using Early Access to gather data from a real competitive population. We need you to find the broken spots, the overpowered tech, and the meta strategies so we can refine the balance for the full 1.0 release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. This gives us time to iterate on the meta, release seasonal content, and ensure the competitive ranking system is flawless. However, we will not leave Early Access until the community agrees the game is balanced.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be a content expansion of the current foundation. We plan to add:

- Ranked Mode: We plan to implement a formal competitive ladder with seasonal rewards.
- Ability Evolution: We intend to introduce deep loadout customization. Our plan is to allow players to pick two unique spells before the match and evolve them through skill trees between rounds, ensuring no two matches play out the same way.
- Arena Expansion: We plan to release new, high-verticality maps on a regular cadence, bringing fresh hazards and vertical layouts to master.
- New Modes: We aim to expand the chaos with Team Deathmatch and objective-based modes designed to force aggressive spacing and vertical dominance.
- Visual Dominance: We plan to add more skins, more trails, and more ways to flex on your opponents.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The following features represent the state of the game as of the Major Update on December 19, 2025:

Dedicated Servers: As of Dec 19, we use high-performance dedicated servers for fair hit registration. No P2P hosting.

The Arena: We are launching this update with one highly polished vertical map to focus the player base and establish the movement meta. Additional maps will be added in upcoming updates.

Complete Movement Tech: The physics engine is fully unlocked.

DBT Combo: The 'Dash-Bullet-Time' velocity locking tech is implemented.

Traversal: Omnidirectional wall running, air-stalling, and dashes are fully functional.

Combat Loop: The core 'Void Kill' ruleset is complete.

Shooting: Explosive rounds designed for knockback and trajectory control.

Melee: High-impact close-range strikes for maximum displacement.

Bullet Time: Gravity dampeners allow for precise air-stalling and aiming.

Visual Dominance: Character Customization (Armor, Weapons, Skins) is available to personalize your runner.

Matchmaking & Bots: During Early Access only, AI-controlled bots may be used to populate matches when player counts are low. This helps keep matches active while the player base grows. Matchmaking will prioritize human players whenever possible. This system is intended as an Early Access feature and is planned to be removed before the full release of BUMP.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. BUMP is Free-to-Play and we plan for it to remain Free-to-Play. We want the largest possible player base for instant matchmaking and maximum competition.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are building a competitive sport, not just a game. We will be active on our official Discord and Steam Forums to discuss:
[] Meta Balancing: Which movement tech is too strong? Is the knockback fair? We need high-skill players to stress-test the physics. [] Map Exploits: The verticality of BUMP means there are hiding spots we haven't found yet. Help us identify unintended safe zones.
  • Bug Hunting: Help us refine the dedicated server performance and hit registration.
If you find a way to break the game's physics, don't just tell us, show us on Discord, and help us turn it into a feature or fix it.”

MAJOR UPDATE: DEDICATED SERVERS (DEC 19)

MAJOR UPDATE: NEW CITY MAP & SERVER ROTATION

BUMP is getting bigger with its largest map yet, 3 map rotation on dedicated servers, P2P lobbies, a new tutorial, kill credits, speed effects, and more optimization.

Fight across a massive cyberpunk city built for rooftop battles, wall runs, long combos, and chaotic mid-air saves.

About This Game

FORGET HP. DAMAGE = KNOCKBACK.

No health bars. Your hits launch opponents. The edge kills them.

BUMP is an 8-player PvP movement shooter where you do not win by draining health. You win by staying in the arena and blasting everyone else out.

💥 EVERY HIT SENDS PLAYERS FLYING

  • Shots explode on contact, blasting anyone caught in the radius away from the impact.

  • Melee creates a blast around you with the same knockback effect.

  • Hits briefly stun players, so one hit can easily lead into the next.

Chain shots and melee before opponents recover, blast them toward the edge, then launch them through the kill zone.

☠️ THE EDGE IS THE THREAT

  • Ring Outs Win Games

Every map is surrounded by a red holographic kill zone. Blast opponents through it to kill.

  • Any Direction Works

Sides, top, bottom, it does not matter. If a player crosses the edge, they are out.
Think floor is lava, except the walls and ceiling are lava too.

MASTER THE MOVEMENT

  • Core Movement

Jump, Dash, Wall Run, and Bullet Time give you everything you need to move, recover, and survive.

  • Chain Everything Together

Use combos like Dash Bullet Time to cross the map mid-charge, spot a target in flight, launch them with a shot, chase the knockback, and close the gap with movement and melee before they recover.

  • No Ceiling

New players jump from rooftop to rooftop. Skilled players never touch the ground unless they have to.

🌆 CONTROL THE SKYLINE

Fight across a cyberpunk city built for vertical combat.

  • Rooftops & Towers

Control key positions, pressure opponents from above, and force difficult recoveries.

  • Floating Props

Blast props through the arena, use them as temporary platforms, and turn them into part of the fight.

  • No Safe Zones

Standing still is a death sentence. If you're easy to predict, you're easy to launch.

ARCADE CHAOS

Bright cyberpunk arenas. Fast movement. Big knockback. No safe zone.

BUMP is built like an arcade game: simple rules, constant action, and fights that get chaotic fast.

Easy to understand, hard to master, and visually striking from the first launch to the final ring out.
