What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

The Barnhouse Killer launches in Steam Early Access to refine gameplay with your feedback. The core game is polished with one mode and one map, but we'll expand with new content, features, and improvements.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect The Barnhouse Killer to stay in Early Access for 6 to 12 months, giving us time to add maps, modes, and characters while refining the game with player feedback. Our goal is a polished, content-rich full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add new maps, game modes, and characters, along with progression, customization, and quality-of-life improvements like ranked play, an item shop, and UI refinements. Our goal is to grow the game organically, prioritizing what players find most engaging.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of The Barnhouse Killer is fully playable—you can complete a full game, the UI is in great shape, and the map is nearly finished. Sound is starting to go in, and while we still have work to do on visual effects, the core experience is solid.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price of The Barnhouse Killer will stay the same during and after Early Access. We want it to be affordable—basically the cost of a coffee—so more players can jump in, have fun, and help shape the game. Our focus is on growing the community, not adjusting the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is key to making The Barnhouse Killer the best it can be. Join our active Discord to share suggestions, discuss gameplay, stay updated on development, and report bugs. We're transparent about our progress and want players involved in shaping the game’s future—your feedback will help guide new content, balance, and features.”

About This Game

You wake up trapped in a barn, forced into a deadly game of survival. You and three others sit around a table, facing a brutal card game where every mistake brings the saw in front of you closer. Win, and it moves away. Lose, and it inches closer to death!

A strategic multiplayer card game where every decision brings you closer to life or death. Predict, adapt, and outplay your opponents to ensure survival.

Players predict how many hands they will win each round. The total bids cannot match the number of cards in play. You can only bid zero once per full cycle (5-4-3-2-1).

Follow suit or play a trump card to take the trick. The highest card of the lead suit wins—unless a trump card is played. Every card you play could save you… or seal your fate.

Hit your bid? Your saw moves away from you. Miss your bid? Your saw moves closer to your throat. If no one meets their bid, the saws remain still—but they never stop waiting. One by one, the saws will claim their victims. The last survivor wins.
