About This Game

Experience a first-person psychological journey told through recovered VHS footage.
Explore eerie liminal spaces otherwise known as the backrooms, and uncover fragments of a larger national mystery—where those who disappear are never found, and the environment itself holds the answers.

FRAMEWORK: Found Footage is designed to deliver its full visual and atmospheric experience on higher-end systems. Lower-end hardware may experience reduced performance.

Story and Setting:

The year is 1985, and The United States of America is undergoing a national emergency of people disappearing under unusual circumstances. You have come into possession of mysterious video footage recovered from a VHS camera. The camera belonged to a person known only as "Subject 17," whose identity remains classified. The footage captures their final documented hours exploring a series of liminal environments.

Your role is to carefully review and explore the recorded footage. It is advised you take your time and search for clues, as opposed to rushing through the experience. Within the unsettling emptiness and quiet of these distorted spaces lie subtle hints of what might have caused Subject 17's disappearance. The more you explore, the deeper the questions become. Who or what created these places? Is there a connection to other vanishings? And who exactly is Subject 17?

Best of Both Worlds

Whether you're here for immersive storytelling or just want to roam eerie liminal spaces, FRAMEWORK lets you choose. Skip cutscenes and breeze past the narrative — or dive in fully for a grounded, realistic, story-driven experience. In FRAMEWORK you get to choose, the story goes as deep as you make it.
