About This Game

Time in Place is a cozy, sandbox simulator with a story spanning 30 years, told in six chapters.



STORY


You're nearing the end of your studies at University, your roommates will be moving out soon, and life continues to begin. Each of the six chapters is a different endless morning, spread out over 30, focusing on a unique stage of your life, and your apartment will change along with you.


Uncover clues to your story, or play a synthesizer and retro drum machine. Record a song on a four track cassette recorder, watch some old VHS tapes, listen to records, and do the laundry. These moments are yours to experience and enjoy, any way you want.

Features:

  • DISCOVER and PLAY unique mini games in each chapter, unlock Steam achievements and story elements.
  • EXPLORE desk drawers, unfinished short stories, and hidden clues to uncover the story of your life. Explore what a sponge does to dishes.
  • Each level offers its own unique vibe and feeling. Listen to music while it rains outside, or take a moment for INTROSPECTION while waiting for the water to boil.


  • Reactive audio that responds realistically when objects INTERACT, and ambient sounds from the street or courtyard bring the cozy world to life.
  • PLAY a beautifully sampled piano, synthesizer, drum machine, or guitar. EXPERIMENT with guitar pedals, or your own voice (USB/console mic).

  • RECORD your own 4 track songs, mix them, and save to an mp3 to share.
