What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Holiday Hollow is being developed by a team of one to support online multiplayer. That will inevitably come with a host of bugs and issues. Additionally, Holiday Hollow is built to change with the seasons. Each holiday brings a new theme and new mini-games. Early Access lets players join for Halloween now and help decide what the next seasons should be. Hearing how people actually play, like which mini-games they come back to and what they want to do together, is the best way to shape it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 12 months, so we can go through one full year of holidays. We'll launch the full version once every season has its own content and the core multiplayer feels solid.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will add more holiday seasons, each with its own decorations, events and mini-games. It will also have more to find and collect, more NPCs and dialogue, more character customization, and progress that saves between sessions. We'll also polish the parts of town that aren't finished yet, like the tunnels out of Hollow Falls.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Halloween in Hollow Falls is fully playable online with friends. You can explore a festival town with a river, a waterfall, Pumpkin Hill and a diner. You can throw pumpkins and slide on the splats, fish in the river, find six hidden curiosities in a scavenger hunt, and chat with the townsfolk ghosts. You can also design your ghost's face, and there are Steam achievements. Some areas are still rough, and progress lasts only for the current session for now.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the same price during and after Early Access. Anyone who buys during Early Access gets every future season and the full release at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam discussion forums and community hub. Player feedback and bug reports will shape each update. Before each new season we'll share what we're working on, and we'll ask players which holidays, mini-games and features they want next.”

About This Game

A new holiday, a new world to play in

Holiday Hill is a cozy online playground that never stays the same for long. As the calendar turns, the game turns with it: the world, its look, its characters and its mini-games change to match whichever holiday is coming up. Jump in with friends, explore, play, cause a little harmless mischief, and come back next season to find something new.

Now in season: Halloween in Hollow Falls

Every night, until the last leaf falls, the little riverside town of Hollow Falls throws its Harvest Festival. The string lights are up, the gazebo is glowing, and the townsfolk are out in force. Most of them are ghosts. This season, so are you.

  • Be your own ghost. Throw on a bed sheet, pick a face or draw one yourself, then head into town!

  • Pumpkins, so many pumpkins. There's an old tradition in Hollow Falls. When night falls, kids sneak out to steal jack-o'-lanterns all over town and roll them down the hill for their own makeshift slip-n-slide. Or, just pelt your friends with them.

  • Meet the locals. Chat with the town's ghosts, from the long-dead Mayor Wisperton to a deputy who takes his job very seriously. Trick-or-treaters make their rounds from porch to porch, and something very tall watches over the hill.

  • Explore every corner. Cross the stone bridge by the waterfall, climb the Lantern Walk to the haunted mansion, and wander the cemetery, the hedge maze and the pumpkin patch. Grab a booth at the diner, watch the moon from Lovers' Overlook, but mind the tunnels at the edge of town.

Built for coming back

  • Online multiplayer: every season is better with friends

  • Seasonal themes that rotate with the holidays

  • Fresh mini-games each season

  • Hand-built worlds packed with secrets and side paths

  • Cozy and low-pressure: no grind, nothing to lose, just somewhere fun to hang out

A look you can almost feel

Chunky low-poly models, painted skies and a warm, worn-VHS glow give every season the feel of an old holiday special you half-remember from childhood.
